Address, industry classification, listing and incorporation come from Jefferies Financial Group Inc.'s own SEC filer record, so the industry is the SEC's dry classification rather than a marketing label. The headcount is the figure the sources below state for 2025. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Jefferies Financial Group Inc. Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended 30 November 2025 and Leucadia National Corporation Form 8-K dated 23 May 2018 reporting the name change, not taken from any single article.

Description
Jefferies Financial Group Inc. is a U.S. headquartered global investment banking and capital markets firm whose largest subsidiary, the broker dealer Jefferies LLC, was founded in 1962. The listed company is the former Leucadia National Corporation: shareholders voted on 23 May 2018 to change the corporate name to Jefferies Financial Group Inc., and the remainder of that legacy merchant banking portfolio now sits inside the Asset Management segment. The firm reports two segments. Investment Banking and Capital Markets provides advisory, equity and debt underwriting, equities and fixed income sales and trading, prime brokerage and research, and includes the Jefferies Finance corporate lending joint venture and the Berkadia commercial real estate finance joint venture: it produced $6.61 billion of net revenues in fiscal 2025. Asset Management runs alternative strategies through the Leucadia Asset Management division and affiliated managers, earning management and performance fees plus a share of affiliate revenues, and contributed $710.2 million. Group net revenues for the year to 30 November 2025 were $7.34 billion and net earnings attributable to common shareholders were $630.8 million, from 7,787 employees globally.
Who owns Jefferies Financial Group Inc..
Nothing recorded on this side. That is a sourced finding rather than a gap where the research notes say so: see the notes below.
Select a row or a slice for its provenance: the filing it came from, when it was measured, and the arithmetic behind it if it was modelled.
The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 544 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
544 managers reported a position, together holding 140.8m shares. The 40 largest are listed.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Added 21 Aug 2026 by scripts/promote_discovered.py. This company reached the site because a covered investor holds it, not because an index listed it: it was a position in a portfolio here with no page of its own. The match was proved by requiring the register built for this CIK to contain the same CUSIP the portfolio held.
- Discovered at CUSIP 47233W109, held by berkshire.
- Holdings are NOT researched. The empty holdings list means nobody has looked at what this company owns, not that it owns nothing, and the page says so.
- Shares outstanding and market cap are null rather than guessed. Neither was captured on the dated sweep that carries every other company here.
