The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 906 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
906 managers reported a position, together holding 151.7m shares, or 77.9% of the company. The 40 largest are listed. Percentages are of the 194.9m shares outstanding at 4 May 2026, the count in force when this quarter was measured rather than the count today.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- RJF files an enormous Form 13F (accession 0000720005-26-000071, period 2026-06-30, filed 2026-08-14) reporting 13,837 positions worth $368,944,058,179 in aggregate (tableEntryTotal / tableValueTotal from primary_doc.xml). This is client and advisory-account assets under Raymond James's wealth-management and asset-management businesses, not RJF's own holdings, and is excluded from the holdings array on the same basis this project already applies to JPMorgan's and Northern Trust's 13Fs (guarded by the CIK-list plus 400-position threshold described in the research brief).
- Newest source document: for a fiscal year ending 30 September, RJF has not yet filed an FY2026 10-K (year not yet ended as of 19 Aug 2026). The genuinely newest disclosure is the Form 10-Q for the quarter ended 30 June 2026 (filed 2026-08-05), which is what this file uses for shares outstanding and for the equity-investments search. The FY2025 10-K (period 2025-09-30, filed 2025-11-25) was used only for Exhibit 21 (subsidiaries list) and background on the private-equity portfolio's accounting policy.
- Holdings side is empty by design, not by omission. Searched the 30 Jun 2026 10-Q for 'equity method', 'non-marketable'/'nonmarketable', 'private equity', 'merchant banking', 'joint venture', 'unconsolidated', and 'variable interest entit(y/ies)': the only equity-method references are to LIHTC (low-income-housing-tax-credit) project partnerships and other funds that RJF's affordable-housing subsidiaries consolidate or account for as part of tax-credit investing, not stakes in named operating companies. 'Merchant banking', 'joint venture' (as an external minority stake), 'unconsolidated', and 'non-marketable' all returned zero hits. VIEs disclosed in Note 10 (LIHTC funds, a Canadian Restricted Stock Trust Fund) are entities RJF CONSOLIDATES as primary beneficiary, i.e. controlled subsidiaries, not minority equity stakes in other companies.
- The one genuine equity-investment bucket found is 'private equity investments' in the fair-value footnote: $119m recorded value as of 30 Jun 2026 ($112m measured at NAV + $7m not measured at NAV; $112m + $7m = $105m+$7m = $112m as of 30 Sep 2025 for comparison). The 10-Q describes this as 'investments in third-party funds, including growth equity, venture capital, and mezzanine lending fund investments' with no fund or portfolio company individually named. Per the combined-balance rule in the chunk prompt (the Invesco/Great Wall precedent), this sizes none of the underlying funds or companies, so no row was written; the $119m total and its description are recorded here and in unknowns instead.
- Checked Exhibit 21 (List of Subsidiaries) of the FY2025 10-K for an ownership-percentage column that might size a joint venture (the Quest Diagnostics/PPG technique from this project's playbook): RJF's Exhibit 21 is a bare name list with a 'Subsidiary or Joint Venture of' hierarchy column but NO ownership-percentage column, and every entry traces back to a wholly-owned (100%) chain, consistent with the 10-Q's statement that RJF 'consolidate[s] all of our 100%-owned subsidiaries'. This is a genuine negative (the Labcorp/Darden pattern in this project), not evidence of an unsearched format.
- Also checked and excluded as not comparable to a target-company equity stake: Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) and Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) stock, $103m as of 30 Sep 2025 per the FY2025 10-K. This is cost-basis regulatory membership stock a bank must hold to access FRB/FHLB services; FRB and FHLB banks are not publicly tradable target companies with tickers, so this does not fit the holdings schema and was left out rather than forced into a row.
- No 'exchange membership' (e.g. an NYSE seat) language was found anywhere in the 10-Q or 10-K; RJF's own listing on the NYSE under 'RJF' is unrelated to any exchange-membership asset. Search returned 0 hits for that term.
- Register self-gate, computed from this final file exactly as the chart computes it (rolls_up_into containers reduced to their residual, everything else at full value): 12 rows, raw share total 99,815,237, against shares_outstanding 192,361,711, giving 51.90%. This sits above the roughly-25%-to-45% band this project usually sees, mainly because of the ~9.8% Thomas A. James legacy founder stake stacked on top of institutional holders that already sum to about 42%. Checked specifically for the failure mode the brief warns about (a family stake double-counted inside the officers group) and ruled it out: the officers-and-directors group total (1,140,065 sh) is confirmed in the DEF 14A to exclude Thomas A. James, whose 19,336,033 sh sits only in the separate principal-shareholders table.
- Vanguard's DEF 14A 5%-owner figure (22,296,990 sh, sourced to a Schedule 13G/A reporting 29 Dec 2023 data) and BlackRock's DEF 14A figure (13,629,231 sh, sourced to a 13G/A reporting 30 Sep 2024 data) were both superseded in this file by fresh Q2 2026 (period 2026-06-30) 13F-HR figures, per the Baker Hughes lesson in the chunk prompt: refreshing moved Vanguard's family total UP (21.86m vs the stale single-CIK 22.30m, but the stale figure undercounts the true multi-entity family, whose 8-entity 2026-06-30 total is what is used here) and BlackRock's figure UP from 13.63m to 14.34m.
- Capital Group was checked and found to hold NOTHING: all three CIKs (Capital World Investors 0001422849, Capital International Investors 0001562230, Capital Research Global Investors 0001422848) were searched by both issuer-name fragment and by CUSIP 754730109 directly in their Q2 2026 (period 2026-06-30) 13F-HR information tables, with zero matches in each. Recorded here per the Snap-on precedent rather than as a null row.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- RJF's $119m 'private equity investments' balance (30 Jun 2026 10-Q) is a combined balance covering multiple unnamed third-party growth-equity, venture-capital and mezzanine-lending funds; the split among them is not disclosed anywhere in the 10-Q or the FY2025 10-K, so no individual fund or portfolio company could be sized. Searched: the 10-Q's fair-value footnote (table showing recorded value and unfunded commitments) and the FY2025 10-K's equivalent Note 2/Note 9 discussion.
- Whether any of the LIHTC or affordable-housing tax-credit fund investments (equity-method, per Note 2 of the FY2025 10-K) individually exceed a threshold worth reporting could not be determined: these are project-partnership interests in housing funds, not equity in operating companies, and no dollar figure per partnership was found via filing.py search across the FY2025 10-K.
- Thomas A. James's stake (19,336,033 sh, 9.80%) is dated to the DEF 14A's 1 Dec 2025 record date; no fresher 13D/G or 13F-equivalent figure was found for this individual holder (individuals do not file 13F), and no dollar value_usd was sourced for that date, so it is left null.
- No dollar value_usd was sourced for the 'All Directors and Executive Officers as a Group' row (1,140,065 sh) for the same reason: the DEF 14A discloses only share counts for this table, not a priced value.
