The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 6,070 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
6,070 managers reported a position, together holding 7.66bn shares, or 62.7% of the company. The 40 largest are listed.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What the filings say against what the research found
Every holding above was also resolved directly from EDGAR through a precedence rule: the company's own filing outranks a 13D or 13G, which outranks a 13F, which outranks hand research. A 13F reports only US listed, long, US custodied positions, so it is a floor rather than a level. Where sources disagree the higher one leads and the lower is kept beside it.
No position here shows a material gap between sources.

What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Alphabet's Q2 2026 13F (period 30 Jun 2026, filed 7 Aug 2026, accession 0001652044-26-000073) reports 29 lines across 28 issuers with a total value of $99,082,057,675. Filed by Alphabet Inc. with three included managers: GV Management Company LLC, Google LLC and CapitalG II LP. Every listed holding here comes off that one table.
- Class denominator trap, SpaceX: 551,189,500 shares is 7.2% of SpaceX Class A (7.70bn shares) and 4.18% of SpaceX overall (13.18bn shares). Both are the same holding. This file records the all-shares figure in pct_of_target.
- SpaceX is 95% of the 13F by value and is carried at $94,176,237,970 in the filing itself (30 Jun 2026). This file values it at $77,166,530,000 using the $140.00 SPCX close on 14 Aug 2026 so it is comparable with the other holders in this database. Both figures are stated so neither is lost.
- Alphabet's own share classes: 5,868 million Class A (1 vote), 835 million Class B (10 votes), 5,527 million Class C (no votes), as of 15 Jul 2026 per the Q2 2026 10-Q cover page. Total 12,230 million. Market cap of $4.23 trillion is at the GOOGL close of $345.90 on 14 Aug 2026, the last trading day before 16 Aug 2026.
- Class denominator trap, Alphabet's own register: the proxy's percentages are percentages of a single voting class, not of the company. Larry Page's 389,051,160 shares are 46.5% of Class B and 27.4% of total voting power, but only about 3.2% of all 12.23bn shares. Sergey Brin's holding is 42.9% of Class B and 25.3% of voting power. Together the two founders control about 52.7% of the vote on roughly 6.1% of the equity. All directors and executive officers as a group hold 92.2% of Class B and 54.3% of total voting power. pct_of_company in the register is computed as shares divided by 12,230,000,000, and the class-level and voting figures are given here.
- The proxy's beneficial-ownership percentages are based on 5,823,665,113 Class A and 835,779,041 Class B shares outstanding at 6 Apr 2026. Class C is excluded from that table entirely because it carries no votes. The pct_of_company values in the register divide by the later 15 Jul 2026 total of 12.23bn shares, so they mix two measurement dates by nine days of drift. Treat them as approximate to two decimal places.
- Vanguard and BlackRock figures are stale by the proxy's own admission: they come from Schedule 13G/A filings made in February 2024 and are the most recent available. The proxy also discloses that on 26 Mar 2026 Vanguard amended its 13G/A to say that, as of 12 Jan 2026, an internal realignment means it no longer has beneficial ownership of the Class A shares held by its subsidiaries, which will now report separately on a disaggregated basis. Alphabet says it does not know the disaggregated figures. So no current Vanguard position exists in any filing.
- Anthropic is not named in any Alphabet filing. The Q2 2026 10-Q says only that non-marketable equity securities under the measurement alternative, carried at $124,259 million at 30 Jun 2026, 'primarily consist of our investment in a private company'. The 14% figure and the Anthropic attribution both come from press reporting, not from a filing. The position is therefore marked modelled and estimated.
- Alphabet's non-marketable equity securities under the measurement alternative went from $64,094 million at 31 Dec 2025 to $124,259 million at 30 Jun 2026, driven by $114,161 million of gross unrealized gains in the first half of 2026. That single revaluation is larger than the entire 13F portfolio.
- The AST SpaceMobile 13F line reports 8,943,486 shares but 10,904,270 shares of shared voting authority. The two do not reconcile in the filing. The share count is used here.
- Freshworks appears twice in the 13F under different included managers (14,327,273 and 1,879,370 shares). The two lines are summed into one holding of 16,206,643 shares worth $164,011,227.
- Values on the 13F lines are in whole dollars, not thousands, under the current Form 13F specification. The value_price_per_share on each 13F holding is value divided by shares and is a check figure, not a quoted market price.
- The register entry for all directors and executive officers as a group (14 persons) is a superset of the individual insider rows above it, including Page, Brin, Doerr, Shriram, Pichai, Porat and Hennessy. Do not sum the register: the group row already contains them.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- No share count exists anywhere for the Anthropic stake, only a percentage. Looked in the Q2 2026 10-Q, the 2026 proxy statement and the Q2 2026 13F: Anthropic is not named in any of them. Anthropic is private and files nothing.
- How much of the $124,259 million non-marketable carrying value is Anthropic specifically. The filing says 'primarily' and stops there.
- Shares outstanding for the private or thinly covered targets (Ethos Technologies, Fervo Energy, Parabilis Medicines, PayPay Corp) and for the smaller listed ones (Freshworks, GitLab, UiPath, Tempus AI, Prime Medicine, Beam, Relay, Maze, Monte Rosa, Oscar Health, Figma, Hyperfine, Lyell, Sana, Spero, Vera, Autolus, BridgeBio Oncology). pct_of_target is null for all of them rather than guessed. Only six targets have a fetched denominator.
- A current institutional register. The 2026 proxy carries only BlackRock as a named 5% holder, with a February 2024 measurement. State Street, Fidelity (FMR), Geode, T. Rowe Price and Morgan Stanley are named as large holders on fintel.io but that page puts the per-holder share counts behind a subscription, and stockanalysis.com has no holders page for GOOGL. marketbeat.com returns most-recent filers, not largest holders, so it was not used. No share counts for these holders come from a page actually fetched, so they are omitted rather than invented.
- Alphabet's acquisition cost and entry date for the SpaceX position. Not disclosed in the Q2 2026 10-Q or the 13F.
- Whether Alphabet holds other material private stakes besides Anthropic and the pre-listing SpaceX position. The 10-Q aggregates all non-marketable securities into one line and names no investee.
