Valley Link Transmission Company, LLC files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from FirstEnergy: PJM selects regional transmission projects to be jointly developed by FirstEnergy, Dominion Energy, American Electric Power, AEP: PJM selects regional transmission projects to be jointly developed by American Electric Power, Dominion Energy, FirstEnergy and Dominion Energy newsroom: PJM selects regional transmission projects. The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- American Electric Power Company, Inc.. The FY2025 10-K glossary states Valley Link 'is 31.14% owned by AEP' directly. Formed in 2024 by Transource Energy, Dominion Energy affiliates and FirstEnergy affiliates to bid into PJM's 2024 Regional Transmission Expansion Plan; in February 2025 PJM selected regional upgrades proposed by Valley Link, estimated to cost approximately $3.0 billion, of which Transource Energy's (not AEP's own) estimated share of the investment is $1.1 billion. No carrying value for AEP's look-through interest is disclosed. source
- FirstEnergy Corp., as of 30 Jun 2026. Held through FET, FirstEnergy's 50.1%-owned consolidated subsidiary, so recorded here at FET's own 34% stake per this project's convention for a not-wholly-owned consolidated/equity-method entity. On 25 Nov 2024, FET, DominionHV and Transource formed Valley Link as the holding company for transmission projects PJM awarded in RTEP Open Window #1 (two projects, about $3 billion total, FET's estimated share about $1 billion). Valley Link is NOT consolidated with FET; it is accounted for under the equity method as an unconsolidated VIE. The Q2 2026 10-Q states plainly: 'Investment balances as of June 30, 2026, and earnings during the first half of 2026 related to Valley Link were immaterial.' No dollar carrying value is disclosed, so value_usd is null rather than modelled. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Valley Link Transmission Company, LLC where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
