The United Football League is an American professional spring football league created on 31 December 2023 by merging the XFL and the USFL, two rival leagues that had each struggled to fill stadiums and sell rights on their own. It played its first season in 2024 and runs from late March, after the NFL season ends, with games carried on Fox and ESPN platforms. Teams sign players outside NFL rosters, and the league experiments with rules and broadcast presentation, including on field microphones and a faster clock. From 2026 it drops the separate XFL and USFL conferences and fields a single eight team competition, the Birmingham Stallions, Columbus Aviators, Dallas Renegades, DC Defenders, Houston Gamblers, Louisville Kings, Orlando Storm and St. Louis Battlehawks, with the top four reaching the playoffs and a 43 game regular season starting 27 March.
Source
United Football League (UFL) files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from United Football League Announces New Vision, New Markets and Team Rebrands for 2026 (theufl.com), USFL, XFL announce new league name in merger: United Football League (FOX Sports) and United Football League (2024 to present) (Wikipedia). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Fox Corporation. In January 2024, Fox deconsolidated the operations of the United States Football League (USFL) and contributed the USFL net assets to the newly launched United Football League (UFL), a professional spring football league (eight teams; FOX Sports and Disney/ESPN are its domestic distribution partners). As consideration, Fox initially received 'an approximately 42% ownership interest in the UFL, a variable interest entity,' recorded as an equity method investment initially at fair value, generating a non-operating gain of approximately $170 million in fiscal 2024. That 42% figure is the INCEPTION stake, not the current one: the 10-K's Business section separately and more recently states 'As of June 30, 2026, the Company owns approximately 32.2% of the UFL,' the drop from 42% to 32.2% implying dilution from additional capital raised by the UFL since Jan 2024 that Fox did not fully participate in. pct_of_target uses the fresher 32.2% figure. No current carrying value or per-unit value for the UFL equity method investment is disclosed anywhere in the FY2026 10-K (it is folded into 'Other non-current assets' on the balance sheet along with unrelated items such as owned programming and non-current inventories, a combined-balance situation), so value_usd is left null; the only dollar figure disclosed is the one-time $170 million initial recognition gain from January 2024, which is a transaction gain from three fiscal years ago, not a current valuation, so it is not used as value_usd. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of United Football League (UFL) where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
