SSMC is a semiconductor foundry in Singapore that runs an eight inch wafer fabrication plant at Pasir Ris Wafer Fab Park. It makes specialty chips on process nodes from 0.25 micron down to 0.11 micron, covering CMOS, embedded flash, analog and high performance mixed signal, radio frequency, BCD power and sensor technologies, aimed at connected car, secure connectivity, portable and wearable and internet of things applications, and it runs its own process development centre. The company was set up in 1998 as a joint venture between Philips Semiconductors, whose stake passed to NXP Semiconductors on its 2006 spin out, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, which supplied the process technology and fab construction experience, and Singapore's EDB Investments. Construction started in June 1999 and production began in 2000.
Source
Systems on Silicon Manufacturing Company Pte. Ltd. (SSMC) files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from SSMC company profile, SSMC Opens Record-breaking US$1.2 Billion Wafer Fab (TSMC press release), SSMC Yields First Silicon at Singapore Fab (TSMC press release) and Systems on Silicon Manufacturing (Wikipedia). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited, as of 31 Dec 2025. SSMC is private, so there is no market price. The figure is the equity method carrying amount at 31 December 2025, NT$12,419.2 million, converted at NT$31.37 to US$1.00. This is book value, not fair value, and is not comparable to the market values recorded for GUC, VIS and Xintec. source
- NXP Semiconductors N.V.. SSMC is majority owned (61.2%) by NXP and is CONSOLIDATED, not equity-accounted: TSMC's 38.8% interest is recorded as a non-controlling interest (profit of $47 million in FY2025, $32 million in FY2024) rather than as a separate equity-method carrying value, so no standalone value_usd is disclosed for NXP's stake; it is embedded line by line in NXP's consolidated balance sheet. As at 31 Dec 2025, $361 million of NXP's $3,267 million consolidated cash balance was held by SSMC; distributions from SSMC are shared 61.2/38.8 with TSMC (a $150 million dividend was declared by SSMC in Q1 2026, $75 million scheduled for distribution with 38.8% due to TSMC). This is a genuine minority-partner holding inside a consolidated entity, following the brief's Nucor/Moody's-ICRA precedent: consolidated is not the same as wholly owned. sourcesource 2
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Systems on Silicon Manufacturing Company Pte. Ltd. (SSMC) where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
