STARS Alliance, LLC, whose initials stand for Strategic Teaming and Resource Sharing, is a co-operative company formed in 2012 by operators of large pressurised water reactors in the western and central United States so that separately owned nuclear plants can behave like a single fleet without common ownership. Members pool technical staff, spare parts and operating experience, standardise procedures, prepare jointly for regulatory inspections, benchmark performance against shared targets and buy specialised services together, including turbine and steam generator maintenance, valve servicing, radiation protection and low level radioactive waste processing. The Department of Justice reviewed both the alliance and its joint purchasing programme in 2012 and said it would not challenge them. Its current member stations are Callaway in Missouri, Diablo Canyon in California, Palo Verde in Arizona and Wolf Creek in Kansas.
Source
STARS Alliance, LLC files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from About Us (STARS Alliance), STARS in their eyes (Nuclear Engineering International) and Department of Justice Will Not Challenge STARS Alliance LLC's Joint Procurement Proposal (U.S. Department of Justice). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Ameren Corporation. Exhibit 21.1 lists 'STARS Alliance, LLC (25% interest)', domiciled in Delaware, directly beneath 'Ameren Missouri Securitization Funding I, LLC', suggesting the interest sits within the Union Electric (Ameren Missouri) branch of the corporate family, though the exhibit's indentation is not fully unambiguous. This is a percentage LLC interest, not a share count, so shares stays null. Searched the FY2025 10-K and Q2 2026 10-Q body text for 'STARS Alliance': zero hits outside the exhibit, so neither a dollar value nor a description of the entity's business purpose or co-owners appears anywhere else in the filings. Not assigned any portion of the combined equity-method VIE balance described in the holdings notes, since that balance is not tied to named entities. sourcesource 2
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of STARS Alliance, LLC where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
