PRISA Self Storage LLC is a Delaware limited liability company that owns a portfolio of 85 self storage facilities in the United States, which are branded and run day to day by Extra Space Storage. It was one of six purchaser vehicles, alongside PRISA II Self Storage LLC, PRISA III Self Storage LLC, VRS Self Storage LLC and WCOT Self Storage LLC, formed in 2005 so that Extra Space Storage and accounts and funds advised by Prudential Real Estate Investors (now PGIM Real Estate) could jointly buy the Storage USA business from GE Commercial Finance for about 2.3 billion dollars in cash, at the time the largest transaction in the self storage industry. The PRISA name comes from Prudential's core open end United States real estate fund, which supplies the venture's capital while the operating partner supplies management, branding and revenue systems.
Source
PRISA Self Storage LLC files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Extra Space Storage Inc. Form 10-K for 2025 (SEC), Extra Space Storage Form 8-K, 11 May 2005 (SEC) and GE Commercial Finance agrees to sell Storage USA to Extra Space Storage and Prudential Real Estate Investors joint venture for 2.3 billion dollars (GE News). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Extra Space Storage Inc., as of 30 Jun 2026. 10-Q (period 30 Jun 2026): 85 stores, 4% equity ownership, 4% excess profit %, carrying value $8,549 thousand at 30 Jun 2026 ($8,736 thousand at 31 Dec 2025). Stated in thousands in the filing; multiplied by 1,000 here. 'PRISA' is a common naming convention for a PGIM/Prudential real estate separate account fund, but the counterparty is not named in EXR's own filing, so this is not asserted as fact. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of PRISA Self Storage LLC where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
