Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center Co., Ltd. (PATAC) is an automotive design and engineering house based in Pudong, Shanghai. Founded on 12 June 1997 as a 50-50 venture between General Motors and Shanghai Automotive Industry (Group) Corporation, now SAIC Motor, it was the first Sino-foreign vehicle development joint venture in China and functions as one of GM's global technical development centres. Its work covers styling, engineering development, testing and validation, including adapting GM global vehicles for the Chinese market and developing models such as the Chevrolet Sail and the second generation Buick GL8. Its facilities include a climate wind tunnel opened in 2012 and a shared proving ground in Anhui province with about 60 kilometres of test roads.
