This venture is Newsprinters Holdings Limited, the company that combined the newspaper printing and primary distribution operations of News UK, publisher of The Sun and The Times, with those of DMG Media, publisher of the Daily Mail. The Competition and Markets Authority cleared the combination in March 2024 and the business went live that June. News UK contributed the three Newsprinters plants at Broxbourne in Hertfordshire, Knowsley on Merseyside and Eurocentral near Glasgow, which the venture retained, while DMG Media's presses at Thurrock in Essex and Dinnington near Sheffield were closed as surplus capacity after a decade in which national newspaper circulation fell by more than 60 percent. The combined operation prints roughly three million newspapers a night and about 22 million a week, covering the two owners' titles and contract work for other publishers including Telegraph Media Group, the Financial Times and Newsquest. It is registered in England and Wales, company number 15065208, with its registered office at Great Cambridge Road, Waltham Cross.
Source
DMG Media print joint venture (News UK) files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Sun and Mail publishers' plan to combine print operations signed off by CMA (Press Gazette), Launch of Newsprinters Holdings Limited (Newsprinters) and CMA clears way for News UK and DMG print venture (InPublishing). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- News Corporation (News Corp). News Corp's FY2026 10-K discloses that News UK's print products 'are printed at facilities in England and Scotland operated by its joint venture with DMG Media' (Daily Mail General Trust's publishing arm), and separately: 'The Company owns interests in publishing and printing facilities in England and Scotland, which are leased to its joint venture with DMG Media.' Note 6 Investments confirms this is an equity-method investee: 'Equity method investments include News UK's joint venture with DMG Media,' combined with unnamed other equity-method investments in a single 'various' ownership-percentage balance of $95 million (30 Jun 2026) / $85 million (30 Jun 2025). No ownership percentage for the DMG Media joint venture itself is disclosed in any News Corp SEC filing found (10-K body, Exhibit 21 subsidiary list is a plain name list with no percentage column, and prior-year 10-Ks). Per the brief's rule against assigning a combined equity-method balance to a single investee, shares/value_usd/pct_of_target are all left null; the joint venture's existence is a sourced, filed fact even though its size is not. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of DMG Media print joint venture (News UK) where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
