Deep Blue Midland Basin LLC, which trades as Deep Blue, is a midstream water company serving oil and gas producers in the Midland Basin of West Texas. It develops, owns and operates integrated networks that gather, transport, store, recycle and dispose of produced water, and it also delivers water for well completions. The business was created in the third quarter of 2023 as a joint venture between Five Point Energy LLC, now Five Point Infrastructure, which supplied the capital and midstream development platform, and Diamondback Energy, which contributed a set of Midland Basin water assets. Deep Blue reports more than 800 miles of gathering and redelivery pipelines, more than 2 million barrels a day of permitted produced water capacity, over 66 million barrels of storage and more than 500,000 barrels a day of deliveries. It bought Lagoon Operating in June 2024 and has worked with Bechtel on produced water desalination in the Permian Basin.
Source
Deep Blue Midland Basin LLC files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Deep Blue corporate website, Five Point Infrastructure portfolio page and Diamondback Energy Q3 2023 results, Form 8-K Exhibit 99.1 (SEC, 6 November 2023). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Diamondback Energy, Inc., as of 30 Jun 2026. Diamondback's only significant equity method investment per its FY2025 10-K. On 1 Oct 2025, Diamondback divested its water-disposal subsidiary Environmental Disposal Systems, LLC to Deep Blue Midland Basin LLC (a joint venture with Five Point Energy LLC) for upfront cash of $694 million plus approximately $34 million of additional Deep Blue equity interests, retaining a 30% equity ownership interest that is carried under the equity method within the 'Other assets' balance sheet caption. The related-party balances note in the 30 Jun 2026 10-Q gives the carrying value directly: Other assets (Deep Blue) of $229 million at 30 Jun 2026, up from $197 million at 31 Dec 2025. This is a carrying (book) value, not a market value; Deep Blue does not trade and no independent price exists. sourcesource 2
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Deep Blue Midland Basin LLC where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
