Bright LyondellBasell Petrochemical, known as BLYB, operates an integrated petrochemical complex at Panjin in Liaoning province, north east China. The site runs a flexible naphtha and liquefied petroleum gas cracker of 1.1 million tonnes a year of ethylene, feeding 0.8 million tonnes a year of polyethylene and 0.6 million tonnes a year of polypropylene, and it supplies Chinese packaging, transport, construction, healthcare and hygiene manufacturers. It uses LyondellBasell's Spheripol and Spherizone polypropylene processes and Hostalen ACP for high density polyethylene, which is the technology half of the arrangement, while the Chinese partner contributes the refinery integration and site operations; the complex sits next to a refinery that supplies its feedstock, and in October 2025 the venture began cracking recovered refinery ethane, about 330,000 tonnes a year of design capacity, piped in from the neighbouring refinery instead of being burned as fuel. The venture was agreed in March 2020 at a project cost of roughly $2.6 billion and started production in the third quarter of that year, trading initially as Bora LyondellBasell before the name changed to reflect a change in its Chinese shareholder.
Source
Bright LyondellBasell Petrochemical Co., Ltd. files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from LyondellBasell Industries N.V. Form 10-K for 2021 (SEC EDGAR), BLYB launches refinery ethane use to enhance feedstock efficiency and integration (LyondellBasell) and LyondellBasell and Bora form petrochemical joint venture (Hydrocarbon Engineering). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- LyondellBasell Industries N.V.. Exhibit 21.1 to the FY2025 10-K (filed 20 Feb 2026) states that Basell International Holdings B.V. owns a 50% interest in Bright LyondellBasell Petrochemical Co., Ltd.. This is a 50 percent ownership interest, written here as the number 50, not as a fraction of 100. Cross-checked against Note 10 (Equity Investments) of the same 10-K, which lists 'Bright LyondellBasell Petrochemical Co. Ltd.' at 50.00% ownership as of both 31 Dec 2025 and 31 Dec 2024, confirming the figure independently within the same filing. LyondellBasell's balance sheet carries a single combined 'Equity investments' line ($3,963 million at 31 Dec 2025 per the 10-K; $3,875 million at 30 Jun 2026 per the most recent 10-Q) covering all equity-method investees together, so no individual carrying value is disclosed for this venture: value_usd is null. sourcesource 2
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Bright LyondellBasell Petrochemical Co., Ltd. where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
