Blue Point Number One is building a low carbon ammonia plant at the Blue Point Complex in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, at a cost of about 4 billion dollars. With a nameplate capacity near 1.4 million metric tons a year it is designed to be the largest single ammonia plant in the world. It uses autothermal reforming technology licensed from Topsoe, which converts natural gas to ammonia in a form that allows more than 95 percent of the process carbon dioxide to be captured, dried and compressed on site; roughly 2.3 million metric tons a year of that carbon dioxide is contracted to 1PointFive, an Occidental subsidiary, for permanent underground storage at its Pelican Sequestration Hub in Louisiana. CF Industries, JERA and Mitsui formed the venture and took the final investment decision in April 2025, with each partner lifting ammonia in proportion to its share and production expected around 2029. Technip Energies is the engineering and module fabrication contractor.
Source
Blue Point Number One, LLC (Blue Point One joint venture) files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from CF Industries Announces Joint Venture with JERA and Mitsui for Production and Offtake of Low-Carbon Ammonia (CF Industries), JERA Makes Final Investment Decision on Blue Point Low-Carbon Ammonia Production Project in the United States (JERA) and Technip Energies awarded major contract for Blue Point Number One ATR (Technip Energies). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- CF Industries Holdings, Inc.. Q2 2026 10-Q, Note 12 Variable Interest Entity: 'We hold 40% ownership, JERA holds 35% ownership, and Mitsui holds 25% ownership in the Blue Point One joint venture.' Independently confirmed at the same 40%/35%/25% split in the FY2025 10-K and the March 2026 DEF 14A proxy. CF is the primary beneficiary (day-to-day operating control) so the VIE is fully consolidated despite CF holding only 40%; recorded here at CF's own percentage per this project's consolidated-not-wholly-owned convention. The combined 60% JERA+Mitsui interest is recorded as a single noncontrolling-interest balance of $518 million as of 30 Jun 2026 (10-Q Note 15) that is NOT split between JERA and Mitsui individually (a combined-balance case) and is NOT CF's own stake, so it is not applied here. The VIE's own balance sheet (10-Q Note 12) shows total assets of $869 million and total liabilities of $54 million as of 30 Jun 2026, i.e. net assets of $815 million, but CF does not separately disclose its own 40% carrying value, so value_usd is left null rather than modelled off that net-asset figure. sourcesource 2
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Blue Point Number One, LLC (Blue Point One joint venture) where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
