Address, industry classification, listing and incorporation come from Lumentum Holdings Inc.'s own SEC filer record, so the industry is the SEC's dry classification rather than a marketing label. The website was checked for this site against the company's own pages. The headcount is the figure the sources below state for 2026. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Lumentum Holdings 10-K for the fiscal year ended 27 June 2026, SEC XBRL company concept: Lumentum revenue from contracts with customers and Wikipedia: Lumentum, not taken from any single article.

Description
Lumentum Holdings designs and manufactures optical and photonic products for cloud and AI data centres, telecom networks, consumer 3D sensing and industrial laser processing. It was incorporated in Delaware in February 2015 and spun off from JDS Uniphase (now Viavi Solutions) in August 2015, and has since acquired Oclaro in 2018, NeoPhotonics and IPG Photonics' telecom transmission product lines in 2022 and Cloud Light Technology in 2023. Sales are split between Components, meaning semiconductor laser chips, laser subassemblies, line subsystems and wavelength management systems that customers build into their own equipment, and Systems, meaning finished optical modules, optical circuit switches and industrial lasers. Net revenue for the fiscal year ended 27 June 2026 was $3.01 billion against $1.65 billion the year before, of which Components accounted for 66.5% and Systems 33.5%. The customer base is concentrated: two end customers represented 26.6% and 15.0% of revenue in that year and 79.2% of product was shipped outside the United States. The company reorganised into a single reportable segment in the first quarter of fiscal 2026, replacing the former Cloud & Networking and Industrial Tech segments, and employed about 13,757 full-time staff at the year end.

The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 1,067 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
1,067 managers reported a position, together holding 77.2m shares, or 99.2% of the company. The 40 largest are listed. Percentages are of the 77.8m shares outstanding at 30 Apr 2026, the count in force when this quarter was measured rather than the count today.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Lumentum's fiscal year ends in late June/early July (52/53-week fiscal year; FY2026 ended 27 June 2026). Its FY2026 Form 10-K was filed 17 August 2026, three months AFTER the last 10-Q (filed 6 May 2026, for the quarter ended 28 March 2026), making the 10-K the newest filing by date. shares_outstanding (89.7 million) is taken from that 10-K's cover page, 'As of August 14, 2026, the Registrant had 89.7 million shares of common stock outstanding,' which is the freshest and most authoritative figure available; the fiscal-year-end balance sheet separately shows 88.6 million common shares issued and outstanding as of 27 June 2026, consistent with modest share issuance since then via equity compensation plans.
- Lumentum has a Series A Convertible Preferred Stock outstanding (2.9 million shares, all held by NVIDIA Corporation, purchased for $2.0 billion on 2 March 2026; see the NVIDIA register row). This is a SEPARATE security from the listed common stock (CUSIP 55024U109) that shares_outstanding and every other register row's shares figure refer to; it is excluded from shares_outstanding and is not converted into it anywhere in this file, per the project's rule against blending instruments.
- Lumentum has outstanding convertible senior notes across several maturities (2026, 2028, 2029, 2032), which are DEBT, not equity. Their CUSIPs (55024UAD1, 55024UAF6, 55024UAH2, and others) appear alongside the common-stock CUSIP 55024U109 in several 13F filings read for this file (Fidelity/FMR, JPMorgan, UBS) and were explicitly excluded from every share and value total above, per the project's instruction that these CUSIPs are debt of the same issuer, not equity.
- Holdings side: searched the FY2026 10-K (filed 17 Aug 2026, the newest filing by date) in full for 'equity method', 'non-marketable', 'equity investment', 'joint venture', 'minority interest', 'unrealized gain', 'cost method', 'variable interest entity', and 'investments in affiliates'. None of these terms turn up any equity-method investment, non-marketable equity security, joint venture, or minority equity stake held by Lumentum in another company; the only 'unrealized gain' hits relate to available-for-sale cash/short-term investment securities (treasury-management instruments), not strategic equity. Exhibit 21 (List of Subsidiaries, as of 27 June 2026) was checked and carries NO ownership-percentage column, only a bare name list of wholly owned domestic and international subsidiaries, including NeoPhotonics Corporation (acquired and wholly owned, excluded per the project's brief as an operating subsidiary) and the Cloud Light entities (also wholly owned subsidiaries, not a joint venture). This is treated as a genuine negative: Lumentum holds no disclosed material equity stakes in other companies, and the holdings array is intentionally empty.
- Register self-gate, computed on this final file per the project's chart arithmetic (raw shares summed, no rows are is_aggregate with rolls_up_into members so every row counts at full value): 14 rows (13 with a nonzero share count plus the NVIDIA preferred-stock row at shares: null, which contributes 0), 40,004,338 shares, 44.60% of shares_outstanding (89,700,000). This sits within the expected 25-45% band. Cross-check against this project's data/registers/LITE.json snapshot: it reports 1,067 filers holding a combined 77,151,612 shares as of 31 March 2026, about 86.0% of shares outstanding, consistent with Lumentum being a heavily institutionally held company where a concentrated top-13 capturing roughly half of that institutional total is expected rather than anomalous. The NVIDIA preferred-stock row contributes 0 to this total (shares: null, correctly excluded from the chart's sum) since it is not a common-stock holding.
- Several Q2 2026 13F share counts differ substantially (both up and down) from both this project's Q1 2026 (31 Mar 2026) register snapshot and from Lumentum's Oct 2025 DEF 14A 5%-owner table (itself sourced to Schedule 13G/A filings dated between Jan 2024 and Aug 2025). LITE's 52-week trading range as of 20 Aug 2026 was $111.20 to $1,085.68, an extreme rally; large institutional repositioning (both accumulation and profit-taking, e.g. the roughly 90% reduction in Capital World Investors' position since mid-2025) over that period is plausible and is flagged per-row above rather than smoothed over.
- Implied-price check run on every row: nearly all cluster tightly around $858.06/share (the Q2 2026, period-end 30 June 2026 price), including after converting the T. Rowe Price Associates and T. Rowe Price Investment Management rows from values reported in THOUSANDS (confirmed per this project's known filer quirk). JPMorgan and State Street/Geode show minor variance (~$851 to $858/sh), within normal cross-filer rounding and multi-line weighting, not a units error.
- Coordinator verification, and a ONE-SIDED EDGE worth acting on. The register self-gate of 44.60 per cent sits inside the normal band and the implied prices are internally consistent at about $858.06 across every fresh Q2 2026 row, which also agrees with the $827.60 implied by market capitalisation at 19 Aug 2026, the difference being the seven weeks between the two measurement dates rather than a units error. company.shares_outstanding of exactly 89,700,000 is a genuinely round number because the FY2026 10-K cover page itself rounds, stating 'As of August 14, 2026, the Registrant had 89.7 million shares of common stock outstanding'; it is faithful to the source rather than an approximation introduced here. The NVIDIA row is handled correctly: NVIDIA holds 2.9 million shares of Lumentum Series A Convertible Preferred Stock for $2.0 billion, which is NOT the listed common class, so the row carries shares: null and confidence 'contingent' and contributes nothing to the charted total. THE EDGE IS ONE-SIDED: data/research/nvidia.json carries NO Lumentum holding, so this project records Lumentum's side of a $2.0 billion strategic position and not NVIDIA's. That is a genuine gap rather than a name collision, it is sourced to Lumentum's own 10-K, and it is exactly the kind of strategic stake a 13F register cannot show, since preferred stock held by a corporate is invisible to it. It is recorded here rather than written into nvidia.json unilaterally.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- No ownership percentage for any Lumentum equity holding could be found because no such holding exists in the newest 10-K; this is recorded as a sourced negative, not a gap.
- Individual director/officer share counts were not broken out as separate register rows (all are small, under roughly 0.1% of the company individually); only the DEF 14A's 14-person group total is included. A fresher 2026 proxy with updated insider figures had not been filed as of 20 Aug 2026.
- Whether or how many shares of NVIDIA's Series A Convertible Preferred Stock have since converted into Lumentum common stock (subject to HSR clearance) could not be determined; the FY2026 10-K (through 27 June 2026, filed 17 Aug 2026) gives no indication any conversion had occurred.
