The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 1,129 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
1,129 managers reported a position, together holding 916.4m shares, or 92.4% of the company. The 40 largest are listed. Percentages are of the 992.1m shares outstanding at 16 Apr 2026, the count in force when this quarter was measured rather than the count today.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- FORMER PARENT (General Electric / now GE Aerospace): fully exited, evidenced in both directions. GE's last Schedule 13D/A on Baker Hughes (Amendment No. 16, filed 9 May 2022) reported 44,522,253 shares of Class A Common Stock, 4.3%, as of 14 Apr 2022 (https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1701605/000094787122000524/ss994454_sc13da.htm). No SC 13D/A or SC 13G has been filed on Baker Hughes' CIK by General Electric Company (CIK 0000040545) since that date, checked against EDGAR's full filing list through 18 Aug 2026. GE Aerospace's own FY2025 10-K (filed 29 Jan 2026, https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/40545/000004054526000008/ge-20251231.htm) shows a Gains/Losses on Investments table with 'Investment in Baker Hughes realized and unrealized gain (loss)' of $10 million in 2023 and $0 in both 2024 and 2025, confirming the position was fully wound down by end of 2023 with zero activity since. Baker Hughes' 2026 DEF 14A 5-per-cent holder table (as of 23 Mar 2026) lists only Vanguard, JPMorgan Chase, BlackRock and State Street; General Electric / GE Aerospace does not appear. GE's April 2024 split into GE Aerospace, GE Vernova and (earlier, Jan 2023) GE HealthCare shows no transferred Baker Hughes equity: GE Vernova's FY2025 10-K mentions only a 50-50 commercial 'Aero JV' with Baker Hughes (an operating joint venture, not a stock holding). Conclusion: the former parent holds zero Baker Hughes shares today and is not a register row.
- Share basis: Baker Hughes now has a single share class, Class A Common Stock, par value $0.0001. No Class B Common Stock is referenced anywhere in the FY2025 10-K or the Q2 2026 10-Q; the historical non-economic Class B tied to GE's Baker Hughes Holdings LLC exchange units has been fully eliminated (exact elimination date not located in the filings read; flagged in unknowns). All register share counts here sit on one basis: shares_outstanding = 992,674,071 Class A shares as of 23 Jul 2026 (Q2 2026 10-Q cover page).
- Holdings side: two disclosed equity-method positions, both private joint ventures, neither a listed foreign affiliate. (1) Aero JV, 50% with GE Vernova: part of an undisclosed combined equity-method balance of $1,117 million at 31 Dec 2025 ($1,080 million at 31 Dec 2024), so value_usd is null per the combined-balance rule. (2) Surface Pressure Control JV, 35% with a subsidiary of Cactus, Inc., formed January 2026: individually disclosed initial carrying value of approximately $156 million in the Q2 2026 10-Q, separate from the FY2025 combined balance since the JV postdates it.
- REGISTER REWORK (round 2): the initial version of this file used stale proxy/13G figures as the primary number for Vanguard, BlackRock, JPMorgan and State Street, and had not summed Vanguard's 13F successor family. All four have been replaced with fresh Q2 2026 (30 Jun 2026) Form 13F-HR figures, basis filed_13f, with the stale figure and its date kept in each row's method_note as a reconciliation. Vanguard's parent CIK filed 13F-NT for Q2 2026, so its position was summed across 8 successor entities (named in that row's method_note), identified from this project's own 13F-derived BKR register at data/registers/BKR.json. Five additional managers were added to reach the brief's 8-to-12-holder target: Geode Capital Management, Norges Bank, Morgan Stanley, FMR LLC (Fidelity) and Northern Trust, each from its own Q2 2026 13F. The proxy's 5-per-cent table was re-read and still shows only Vanguard, JPMorgan Chase, BlackRock and State Street as 5%+ holders; no other proxy-listed concentration was found.
- STALE-VS-FRESH RECONCILIATION for the four replaced rows: Vanguard 121,897,643 (13G, 13 Feb 2024) vs 124,330,074 (13F family sum, 30 Jun 2026): fresh figure 2,432,431 shares HIGHER. JPMorgan Chase 86,781,218 (13G, 23 Jan 2026) vs 69,935,638 (13F, 30 Jun 2026): fresh figure 16,845,580 shares LOWER. BlackRock 84,558,359 (13G, 17 Apr 2025) vs 99,116,387 (13F, 30 Jun 2026): fresh figure 14,558,028 shares HIGHER. State Street 65,170,011 (13G, 30 Jan 2024) vs 64,578,131 (13F, 30 Jun 2026): fresh figure 591,880 shares LOWER. The direction is not consistent across holders, confirming a stale 13G can either overstate or understate the current 13F position, not just run stale-low.
- Self-gate, computed on this final file exactly as the chart computes it: 12 register rows, share total 523,722,212, 523,722,212 / 992,674,071 = 52.76% of shares_outstanding. This sits above the roughly 25 to 45 per cent range described as typical for this database, but below the 55% ceiling flagged as likely indicating a double-count or mixed basis; every row here is either a fresh Q2 2026 13F-HR figure on the single Class A Common Stock basis, or (for the officers/directors row) the proxy's own beneficial-ownership table, and no former-parent stake is included since GE fully exited (see above). The move from 44.66% (round 1, on stale figures and 7 rows) to 52.76% (round 2, on fresh figures and 12 rows) is explained by the combination of Vanguard's fuller 8-entity family sum, BlackRock's materially larger fresh 13F figure, and five newly added managers (Geode Capital, Norges Bank, FMR/Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, Northern Trust) totalling roughly 80.8 million shares (8.14%) that were not in the round-1 register at all.
- Capital Group: all three CIKs checked (Capital World Investors 0001422849, Capital International Investors 0001562230, Capital Research Global Investors 0001422848) via the Q2 2026 13F. Two of the three held Baker Hughes (47,479,630 and 22,032,387 shares); Capital International Investors held none, checked and confirmed rather than assumed. Summed as a family roll-up (not is_aggregate, since nothing rolls into it) to 69,512,017 shares, 7.00% of the company.
- T. Rowe Price: both CIKs checked. T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. (0000080255) held 13,582,112 shares, reported in the filing's convention of thousands (raw XML value 753,809 = $753,809,000 actual); T. Rowe Price Investment Management, Inc. (0001897612) held none in the same period, checked and confirmed absent.
- Counterparty reconciliation on the Aero JV, the cheapest independent check available on a private joint venture. GE Vernova is already in this database and its own file (data/research/ge-vernova.json, researched in an earlier chunk) records the same venture as 'Aero Alliance' at 50 per cent, individually disclosed in its FY2025 10-K Note 11 with a balance of USD 569,000,000 at 31 Dec 2025, up from USD 544,000,000 a year earlier. This file independently records Baker Hughes' side at 50 per cent from Baker Hughes' own FY2025 10-K. The two halves sum to exactly 100 per cent, neither filing states the counterparty's share, and neither researcher saw the other's file, so this is genuine two-sided corroboration rather than a copied figure. Note the asymmetry in sizing: GE Vernova discloses the venture individually while Baker Hughes reports it only inside a combined USD 1,117,000,000 equity-method balance, which is why value_usd is null on this side and populated on that one. A reader wanting a dollar figure for this venture should take GE Vernova's.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- Individual carrying value of the Aero JV: part of the undisclosed $1,117 million combined equity-method balance at 31 Dec 2025 (FY2025 10-K, Note 18); not broken out by investee anywhere searched in the 10-K or Q2 2026 10-Q.
- Whether any equity-method investees beyond the Aero JV made up that $1,117 million combined balance: not named in Note 18 or elsewhere in the FY2025 10-K searched (equity method, unconsolidated affiliates, joint venture, noncontrolling interest, related party transactions).
- Exact date Class B Common Stock was fully eliminated: the FY2025 10-K and Q2 2026 10-Q show no remaining reference to a Class B class, but the conversion/elimination event itself was not located in the filings read for this file.
- Precise underlying ownership measurement date inside each cited Schedule 13G/A: the DEF 14A footnotes give only the 13G/A filing date, not the reporting date stated on the cover of each 13G/A itself.
- Whether GE HealthCare (GE's January 2023 spinoff) was ever assigned any residual Baker Hughes interest: not directly checked in GE HealthCare's own filings; considered highly unlikely given its unrelated medical-imaging business and GE Aerospace's 10-K showing zero Baker Hughes investment activity since 2023, but this is inference rather than a filing-confirmed absence for GE HealthCare specifically.
- Identity and ownership share of the non-Baker Hughes side of the Surface Pressure Control joint venture: the Q2 2026 10-Q names only 'a subsidiary of Cactus, Inc.' without a specific entity name or CIK.
