The White Pass & Yukon Route is a three foot narrow gauge heritage railway running north from the cruise port of Skagway, Alaska over the White Pass summit to Carcross in Canada's Yukon Territory. Built between 1898 and 1900 to carry Klondike gold rush traffic and designated an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, the line closed in 1982 when mineral prices collapsed and reopened in 1988 as a seasonal sightseeing operation. It now runs excursion trains from May to September over the first 67.5 miles of the original route, climbing close to 3,000 feet in 20 miles, and carries roughly 400,000 passengers a year, most of them cruise ship visitors. The business also includes port, dock and retail operations at Skagway, and is held through Klondike Holdings, LLC alongside majority partner Survey Point Holdings.
Source
White Pass & Yukon Route files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from White Pass & Yukon Route company information, Wikipedia: White Pass and Yukon Route, Carnival Corporation & plc Acquires Port, Railroad and Retail Operations in Alaska (PR Newswire) and Klondike Holdings, LLC (White Pass & Yukon Route). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Carnival Corporation, as of 30 Nov 2025. FY2025 10-K, Note 4: 'We have a 45% noncontrolling interest in the White Pass & Yukon Route ("White Pass") that includes port, railroad and retail operations in Skagway, Alaska. White Pass provided an immaterial amount of services to us in 2025, 2024 and 2023. As of November 30, 2025, our investment in White Pass was $64 million, consisting of $32 million in equity and a loan of $32 million. As of November 30, 2024, our investment in White Pass was $58 million.' The 45% interest level is stable across both fiscal years shown (no ownership-percentage change like Grand Bahama/Floating Docks). This entity does not appear in Royal Caribbean's equivalent file, so it is a Carnival-only equity-method investment among the cruise-adjacent operators researched in this project so far. The Q2 FY2026 10-Q does not update this figure. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of White Pass & Yukon Route where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
