The Unis Venture is a Chinese data storage joint venture agreed in November 2015 and launched in September 2016 between Western Digital, whose interest passed to Sandisk, and Unisplendour Corporation Limited together with its subsidiary Unissoft (Wuxi) Group Co., Ltd., the information technology arm of Tsinghua Unigroup. Trading as Unis-WDC Storage Co., Ltd. and based in Nanjing with a sales office in Beijing, it markets and sells the American partner's data centre storage systems inside China, including the HGST Active Archive system, and develops storage products aimed at Chinese big data customers. Unis supplies local market access, government and enterprise relationships and distribution, while the American partner supplies the storage hardware, drives and engineering. The structure was designed to give a foreign storage vendor a route into a Chinese market that increasingly favoured domestic suppliers.

Unis Venture (Unisplendour Corporation Limited / Unissoft (Wuxi) Group Co. Ltd.) files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Western Digital Announces Joint Venture With China-Based Technology Company Unisplendour Corporation Limited (PR Newswire, November 2015), Unisplendour and Western Digital Joint Venture: Unis-WDC Storage (StorageNewsletter) and Tsinghua Unisplendour forms JV with Western Digital (China.org.cn). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Sandisk Corporation. A China sales/marketing joint venture ('the Unis Venture'), 48% owned by Sandisk and 52% by Unis, accounted for under the equity method (a quarter in arrears). The 10-K states equity earnings from the Unis Venture were 'not material' for FY2026, FY2025 and FY2024, and gives no individual carrying value: the only balance-sheet-adjacent figure is Note 16's 'Summarized Financial Information,' which reports Total net equity of investees of $1,025 million (2026) and $1,110 million (2025) on a COMBINED, 100%-of-investee basis across Flash Ventures, the Unis Venture and SDSS together, not Sandisk's proportionate share of any one of them. Per the no-combined-balance rule, value_usd is left null here; the combined figure is recorded in notes and unknowns rather than assigned to this venture. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Unis Venture (Unisplendour Corporation Limited / Unissoft (Wuxi) Group Co. Ltd.) where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
