TNT Sports is the pay television sports broadcaster for the United Kingdom and Ireland, created as a 50:50 joint venture between BT Group and Warner Bros. Discovery that was announced in May 2022, cleared by the Competition and Markets Authority in July 2022 and completed on 1 September 2022. BT contributed the BT Sport channels, production assets and rights, Warner Bros. Discovery contributed its Eurosport business in the two markets and took on day to day operation, and the combined service was rebranded from BT Sport to TNT Sports on 18 July 2023, with the Eurosport brand retired locally on 28 February 2025. Its rights include Premier League football, the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, Premiership Rugby, UFC, MotoGP, Formula E, the World Rally Championship, overseas international cricket and the Olympic Games. The channels reach viewers through Sky, Virgin Media, EE TV, Vodafone TV in Ireland and the group's streaming service.
Source
TNT Sports (joint venture) files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from BT Group and Warner Bros. Discovery agree to form new premium sports joint venture for the UK and Ireland (BT newsroom), TNT Sports (United Kingdom) (Wikipedia) and Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. Form 10-K for 2025, Note 10 Investments (SEC EDGAR). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc., as of 31 Dec 2025. FY2025 10-K equity investments table: 'TNT Sports', ownership 50%, carrying value $10 million at 31 Dec 2025 (down from $92 million at 31 Dec 2024). The 10-K separately discloses a $79 million impairment of the TNT Sports joint venture recognized in 'loss from equity investees, net' during 2025, which explains most of the decline. In the Q2 2026 10-Q, TNT Sports is no longer broken out as its own line: the 10-Q's comparative 31 Dec 2025 'Other' balance of $268 million equals the 10-K's 'Other' of $258 million plus TNT Sports' $10 million, indicating TNT Sports has been folded into the undisclosed combined 'Other' bucket by the June 2026 filing. Its 30 Jun 2026 value is therefore not separately known; the most recent individually-disclosed figure (31 Dec 2025, from the 10-K) is used here rather than left blank, but is stale relative to the 10-Q's reporting date. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of TNT Sports (joint venture) where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
