Skild AI is a robotics company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania building Skild Brain, a general purpose foundation model meant to serve as shared control software across many different robot bodies rather than a model tuned to one machine or one task. It was founded in 2023 by Deepak Pathak and Abhinav Gupta, who left professorships at Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute, and it trains on a much larger and more varied robotics dataset than single purpose systems in order to transfer skills between embodiments. The model covers manipulation, locomotion and navigation, and the company targets work in warehousing, manufacturing, construction, security patrol and inspection. It raised a 300 million dollar Series A in July 2024 and a 1.4 billion dollar Series C led by SoftBank in January 2026.
Source
Skild AI files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Announcing our $300M Series A Funding, Skild AI, Skild AI grabs $300M to build foundation AI model for robotics (The Robot Report), Announcing Series C, Skild AI and Skild AI Business Breakdown and Founding Story (Contrary Research). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Zebra Technologies Corporation, as of 27 Mar 2026. Q1 2026 10-Q (period ended 4 Apr 2026, filed 12 May 2026), Note 7 Exit and Restructuring Activities: on 27 Mar 2026 Zebra completed the sale of its robotics automation business to Skild AI, receiving total consideration of $20 million: $9 million upfront cash, a minority ownership stake in Skild AI with a fair value of $9 million at closing, and $2 million held in escrow. Net gain on sale was $5 million. The filing states only 'a minority ownership stake' with no share count and no ownership percentage disclosed, so shares and pct_of_target are null; the $9 million is the fair value assigned to the stake at the moment of acquisition, not a current mark. The Q2 2026 10-Q (period 4 Jul 2026, filed 4 Aug 2026) repeats the transaction narrative with no new figures for this specific position and reports only a COMBINED long-term investments balance of $96 million at quarter end covering Skild AI together with Zebra's other, unnamed, pre-existing venture-capital-backed technology investments (see notes and unknowns); no updated Skild AI-specific fair value is separately disclosed anywhere, so no current value_usd is recorded beyond the $9 million acquisition-date figure. sourcesource 2
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Skild AI where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
