Silicon Carbide LLC is the Delaware holding entity into which Coherent Corp. separated its silicon carbide semiconductor business in December 2023, following a strategic review begun in May 2023. The business makes 150 mm and 200 mm silicon carbide substrates and epitaxial wafers, the starting material for power semiconductors used in electric vehicle traction inverters, chargers, industrial drives and renewable energy conversion. Its main plant is in Easton, Pennsylvania, alongside crystal growth in Pennsylvania and epitaxy capacity in Sweden, and it holds long term supply agreements with DENSO and Mitsubishi Electric, the two automotive and industrial groups that put a combined one billion dollars into the business at separation. Coherent continues to control and operate it.

Silicon Carbide LLC files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Coherent Corp.. FY2026 10-K (period ended 28/30 Jun 2026), Note 15 Noncontrolling Interests and MD&A: on 4 Dec 2023, Silicon Carbide LLC (a Coherent subsidiary) sold 16,666,667 Class A Common Units to Denso Corporation for $500 million and 16,666,667 Class A Common Units to Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO) for $500 million, $1.0 billion total, pursuant to Investment Agreements dated 10 Oct 2023. As a result, Coherent's own ownership interest in the Class A Common Units of Silicon Carbide was reduced to approximately 75%, with Denso and MELCO each holding approximately 12.5%. This value_usd is null because Silicon Carbide LLC is a CONSOLIDATED subsidiary (not equity-accounted), so no standalone equity-method carrying value is disclosed for Coherent's stake; the partners' combined 25% appears in Coherent's financial statements only as a noncontrolling interest line (net loss attributable to noncontrolling interests of $18 million for FY2026, $19 million for FY2025, both described as representing the noncontrolling interest holders' share of Silicon Carbide LLC's losses). At 30 Jun 2026, $604 million of Coherent's $606 million total restricted cash was held by Silicon Carbide LLC and restricted for use only by that subsidiary. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Silicon Carbide LLC where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
