SanDisk Semiconductor (Shanghai), known as SDSS, runs a flash memory assembly and test plant in the Zizhu Industrial Science Park in Shanghai. The 34,000 square metre site opened on 27 September 2007 as SanDisk's first manufacturing operation in mainland China, and it handles the full back end flow, taking finished wafers from fabrication partners in Japan and turning them into memory cards, embedded flash products, flash components and system in package modules for mobile phones before shipping them to customers. At launch it was sized to cover roughly 30 percent of SanDisk's global demand for system in package products. In March 2024 the plant was converted into a joint venture with the Chinese packaging and test group JCET, which agreed to take a controlling interest at a valuation of 780 million dollars, with the deal clearing Chinese antitrust review in August 2024.
Source
SanDisk Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. (SDSS) files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from SanDisk Marks the Opening of its First Production Plant in China (WebWire, 2007), SanDisk China to sell to JCET majority of equity interest in SanDisk Semiconductor (Shanghai) (StorageNewsletter, 5 March 2024) and China chip-packaging giant JCET takes over Shanghai plant of US flash memory maker SanDisk (South China Morning Post). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Sandisk Corporation. An assembly-and-test facility venture, 20% owned by Sandisk and 80% by JCET Management Co., Ltd., following WDC's Sep 2024 divestiture of 80% of the entity to JCET. Accounted for under the equity method. No individual carrying value is disclosed: it sits inside the same combined $1,025m / $1,110m 'Summarized Financial Information' bucket described in the Unis Venture row above (100%-of-investee basis, covering Flash Ventures, Unis Venture and SDSS together), so value_usd is left null per the no-combined-balance rule. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of SanDisk Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. (SDSS) where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
