Red Cedar Gathering Company is a natural gas midstream business headquartered in Durango, Colorado, that gathers, compresses and treats gas produced in the northern San Juan Basin and delivers it into intrastate and interstate pipelines. Almost all of its system sits inside the exterior boundaries of the Southern Ute Indian Reservation in La Plata County, and it handles gas from every formation and coal seam in the basin, running treating plants at Arkansas Loop and Coyote and compressor stations including Bondad and Coyote around the clock. It is a joint venture between the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, which holds the majority through its Growth Fund and operates the company, and a Kinder Morgan partnership. Red Cedar has also built a carbon business on top of the gathering system: the Red Sage facility captures carbon dioxide separated at the treating plants and a roughly 20 mile pipeline carries about 300,000 tonnes a year to Coyote Gulch, where it enters Kinder Morgan's Cortez Pipeline for delivery to West Texas.
Source
Red Cedar Gathering Company files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Red Cedar Gathering Company website, CO2 Pipeline (Red Cedar Gathering) and Business Areas (Southern Ute Growth Fund). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Kinder Morgan, Inc., as of 31 Dec 2025. Equity-method joint venture interest, not a share count. FY2025 10-K states 49% ownership and a $168 million carrying value, unchanged from 31 Dec 2024. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Red Cedar Gathering Company where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
