Premia Holdings Ltd. is a Bermuda based reinsurance group, headquartered at Wellesley House South in Pembroke, that specialises in the run-off market: it reinsures or buys outright the discontinued and legacy non-life insurance and reinsurance portfolios that other carriers no longer want to administer, freeing those carriers' capital and management time. Formed in January 2017 with 510 million dollars of initial capital, it writes through Premia Reinsurance Ltd. in Bermuda, runs Syndicate 1884 at Lloyd's of London through Premia Managing Agency, and operates a United States claims and solutions arm, Premia Solutions Inc., from Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. It has assumed more than 5 billion dollars of liabilities across multiple non-life lines and geographies.
Source
Premia Holdings Ltd. files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Premia Holdings company website, Premia Raises 510 million dollars in initial capital (Kelso & Company) and Arch Capital Group Form 8-K, 9 January 2017 (SEC). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Arch Capital Group Ltd. (ACGL). Arch's FY2025 10-K states: 'In 2017, Arch and certain co-investors acquired approximately 25% of Premia Holdings Ltd.' and, in the Operations section: 'Arch Re Bermuda and certain Arch co-investors invested $100 million and acquired approximately 25% of Premia as well as warrants to purchase additional common equity.' The filing does not make clear whether the ~25% is Arch's own share alone or the combined stake of Arch Re Bermuda plus its co-investors together, so this is recorded as approximate rather than exact; confidence is set to estimated for that reason even though the 25% figure itself is stated directly in the 10-K, not modelled from scratch. Premia is carried as an equity-method 'investment in operating affiliate' alongside Coface and Greysbridge, but unlike those two, neither the 10-K nor the Q2 2026 10-Q discloses a separate carrying value for Premia. The filings only give a combined 'investments accounted for using the equity method' total ($6.5 billion at 31 Dec 2025) that spans many holdings well beyond just Coface, Greysbridge and Premia (Arch's broader investment portfolio includes other equity-method fund interests), so no per-investee split is available for Premia and value_usd is left null rather than assigning any portion of that combined balance to it. Arch has appointed two of Premia's seven board directors, versus three of Somers' ten. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Premia Holdings Ltd. where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
