Who owns Orca Sand and Gravel Limited Partnership
One company in the researched set discloses a stake in Orca Sand and Gravel Limited Partnership, none of it sized by anyone who discloses it. - 2007 (start of commercial production)
Orca Sand and Gravel operates the Orca Quarry, a construction aggregates mine on the northeast coast of Vancouver Island just west of Port McNeill, British Columbia. The deposit covers roughly 350 hectares and holds reserves of about 121 million tonnes, enough for an expected operating life of more than 25 years, and the site can produce in excess of 6 million tonnes of sand and gravel a year. Commercial production began in early 2007. Because the quarry sits on tidewater with its own deep water port, output is loaded directly onto ships and barges and sold into markets that lack local aggregate: California, Hawaii and Vancouver, supplying concrete producers for residential, commercial and infrastructure work. The partnership was structured with the 'Namgis First Nation as an equity partner alongside quarry developer Polaris Minerals, under a cooperation and impact benefits agreement that also set a local hiring target.
Source
Orca Sand and Gravel Limited Partnership files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Natural Resources Canada: Orca Sand and Gravel Project, British Columbia, Vulcan Materials: Orca Sand & Gravel facility page and Polaris announces friendly acquisition by Vulcan Materials Company. The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Vulcan Materials Company. Written here as 88, not 0.88. This is a forward holding, not a reverse one: Vulcan owns 88% of, and CONSOLIDATES, the Orca partnership, formed to develop the Orca quarry in British Columbia, Canada. The remaining 12% is held by the Namgis First Nation as a genuine third-party partner (a named, described counterparty), and appears on Vulcan's own balance sheet only as the accounting mirror, the $23.8-23.9 million noncontrolling interest line; that NCI balance is what makes Orca not wholly owned, and is why it qualifies as a holding, not what disqualifies it. Matches the Nucor-Yamato/NXP-SSMC/Coherent-Silicon Carbide precedent: consolidated is not the same as wholly owned. Exhibit 21 also separately lists 'Orca Sand & Gravel Ltd.' (the general-partner corporate entity for the same British Columbia venture) at the identical 88%; treated here as the same underlying 88%/12% Orca venture rather than a second, additive holding, to avoid double-counting one economic interest as two. No individual carrying value is disclosed for Vulcan's 88% interest itself: the $23.8-23.9 million consolidated noncontrolling-interest balance is a COMBINED figure covering every less-than-wholly-owned Vulcan subsidiary (Orca, BHM Hangar, Southwest Gulf Railroad, North Field Extension, Terra Bagnata, per Exhibit 21), not split by entity anywhere in the 10-K or 10-Q, so per the combined-balance rule value_usd stays null here rather than being apportioned. sourcesource 2
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Orca Sand and Gravel Limited Partnership where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
