Nobles 2 is a 250 megawatt wind farm on Buffalo Ridge in Nobles County, southwest Minnesota, spread across a site of roughly 17,000 hectares near Wilmont and built around 74 Vestas turbines. It is held and operated through Nobles 2 Power Partners, LLC, whose members are affiliates of Tenaska, the Nebraska based independent energy company that acts as managing partner, of the Minnesota utility group ALLETE, and of Bright Canyon Energy. Construction began in August 2019 and the project reached commercial operation on 12 December 2020. Its entire output is sold to Minnesota Power, ALLETE's utility division, under a 20 year power purchase agreement signed in June 2017, and the operating site employs about 14 people locally.
