New York Transco is a transmission only utility that develops, owns and operates high voltage electric transmission lines and substations in New York State, with a corporate office in Fishkill and a project office in Rye Brook. It was formed by subsidiaries of Con Edison, National Grid, Avangrid and CH Energy Group so that the partners could build bulk transmission jointly rather than separately, and it earns a regulated return on the assets it puts into service. Its energised projects include the Fraser to Coopers Corners, Ramapo to Rock Tavern and Staten Island Unbottling lines that entered service in 2016 and helped enable the retirement of the Indian Point nuclear plant, the New York Energy Solution and Rock Tavern to Sugarloaf rebuilds energised in summer 2023, and the Dover Station project completed in December 2025. With the New York Power Authority it is building Propel NY Energy, about 90 miles of underground and undersea cable to carry offshore wind power from Long Island to New York City and Westchester.

New York Transco LLC files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from New York Transco: Overview, New York Transco: Energized projects and NY Transco partners look forward to advancing the Propel NY Energy transmission solution (Con Edison). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Consolidated Edison, Inc., as of 31 Dec 2025. FY2025 10-K Note A, Summary of Investment Balances table: 'Con Edison Transmission's investment in New York Transco' carrying value was $294 million at December 31, 2025 (versus $254 million at December 31, 2024), an equity method investment. New York Transco LLC is a joint venture formed with other New York utilities (Central Hudson, NYSEG, Eversource, LIPA, NYPA and Public Service Electric and Gas Company) that itself owns interests in electric transmission projects. The 10-K's project table lists Con Edison Transmission's 'Ownership Interest': Transmission Owner Transmission Solutions (TOTS) 45.7%, New York Energy Solution (NYES) 45.7%, and Propel NY Energy '41.7% of New York Transco's share.' TOTS and NYES are wholly New York Transco projects, so the consistent 45.7% figure across both is read here as Con Edison Transmission's ownership interest in New York Transco itself; Propel NY Energy is a separate project in which New York Transco holds only a partial share alongside NYPA, which is why its figure is phrased differently. The Q2 2026 10-Q states investments in this segment were $136 million lower at June 30, 2026 than at December 31, 2025, 'primarily reflect[ing] the sale of the equity interest in MVP ($168 million) offset in part by additional investment in and earnings from New York Transco ($32 million),' but does not restate a new June 30, 2026 total balance for New York Transco specifically, so the FY2025 10-K's dated $294 million figure is used rather than an inferred one. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of New York Transco LLC where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
