Nevada Gold Mines is a gold mining venture in northern Nevada formed on 1 July 2019 by combining the Nevada assets of Barrick and Newmont, with Barrick holding 61.5 per cent and acting as operator and Newmont holding the remaining 38.5 per cent as a non managing partner. It runs open pit and underground mines across four districts, Carlin, Cortez, Turquoise Ridge and Phoenix, taking in operations such as Goldstrike, Twin Creeks, Long Canyon and Goldrush, and owns the processing chain that goes with them: roasters with combined capacity of about 9.3 million tons a year, autoclaves, oxide mills, concentrators and heap leach pads. Pooling the two companies' ground let ore from any of the mines be routed to whichever plant treats it best, and the combined complex is the largest gold producing operation in the world.
Source
Nevada Gold Mines LLC (joint venture with Barrick Mining Corporation) files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Nevada Gold Mines (Barrick Mining Corporation operations page), Barrick Gold Corporation Form 40-F FY2019 exhibit (SEC) and Barrick reaches agreement with Newmont on reworked Nevada Gold Mines pact (The Globe and Mail). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Newmont Corporation. Newmont holds a 38.5% interest in the Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) joint venture with Barrick, formed 1 July 2019, and reports it as one of its 13 reportable segments. Unlike Pueblo Viejo, NuevaUnión, Norte Abierto and Lundin Gold, NGM is NOT an equity-method investment: it is proportionately consolidated, meaning Newmont's 38.5% share of NGM's assets, liabilities, revenue and costs is blended line-by-line into Newmont's own consolidated financial statements (confirmed by the 10-Q's statement that 'Newmont's 38.5% share of such amounts is eliminated upon proportionate consolidation of its interest in NGM'). As a result, no standalone dollar value for the 38.5% interest is disclosed anywhere in the Q2 2026 10-Q or FY2025 10-K, so value_usd is null per the rule against inventing a number. This differs from the assumption that NGM is an equity-method investment; see notes. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Nevada Gold Mines LLC (joint venture with Barrick Mining Corporation) where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
