MC Digital Realty is a 50/50 data centre venture in Japan formed in 2017 by Mitsubishi Corporation and Digital Realty. Mitsubishi Corporation brought local development capability, land sourcing and two existing facilities in Mitaka in western Tokyo, while Digital Realty brought its global data centre platform and a newly completed development in Osaka, giving the venture three seed assets valued at about 40 billion yen. The company builds and operates multi tenant colocation campuses in the Tokyo and Osaka metropolitan areas, selling data centre space, power and interconnection to Japanese corporates and cloud operators moving off on premises infrastructure, and set an initial target of managing more than 200 billion yen of assets.
Source
Mitsubishi joint venture files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Digital Realty blog: Digital Realty and Mitsubishi Corporation Launch Joint Venture, MC Digital Realty, Data Center Knowledge: Digital Realty, Mitsubishi Launch Data Center Joint Venture in Japan and Data Center Dynamics: Mitsubishi and Digital Realty in $1.8bn Japanese data center partnership. The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Digital Realty Trust, Inc., as of 30 Jun 2026. 10-Q Note 5 footnote (1): 'Mitsubishi (20%)' within the combined Americas balance. The FY2025 10-K states a $62 million cash contribution by Mitsubishi in January 2025 'increased their ownership in the joint venture from 65% to 80%', i.e. Digital Realty's own share fell from 35% to 20% over the same period, consistent with the current 20% figure; this is a separate Mitsubishi entity from the Japan Premium Outlets-style single-country JVs disclosed by other REITs, specific to Digital Realty's Americas data center portfolio. What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Mitsubishi joint venture where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
