Hot Spring Spas New Zealand Limited is the New Zealand company of the Hot Spring Spas Australasia group and runs the group's head office and distribution centre, a purpose built warehouse in Albany, Auckland staffed by more than 35 people and certified to ISO 9001. It imports hot tubs, swim spas, saunas and components from Watkins Manufacturing Corporation, the Californian maker trading as Watkins Wellness and Hot Spring Spas, drawing on plants in California, Mexico and Pennsylvania, and supplies dealers in New Zealand, Australia and parts of Asia under the Hot Spring, Fastlane and Islander brands. The business was started in 1980 by the engineer Dale Paretovich, who built spas in a garage in Hillcrest, Auckland, began bulk component imports in 1981, moved to Takapuna in 1989 and to Albany in 1996, and ceased manufacturing locally in 2009 to import finished spas instead. Watkins holds half the shares directly.
Source
Hot Spring Spas New Zealand Limited files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Masco Corporation Exhibit 21 subsidiary list, 10-K for FY2025 (SEC), About Us (Hot Spring Spas Australasia) and From revolution to evolution: the story of Hot Spring Spas Australasia. The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Masco Corporation. Exhibit 21 to the FY2025 10-K, footnote 10, identical wording and structure to the Australia entity above: 'Masco Corporation's effective ownership is 51% of which Watkins Manufacturing Corporation owns 50%.' Small, private, immaterial local distribution subsidiary; no share count or value disclosed. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Hot Spring Spas New Zealand Limited where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
