European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company GmbH is building a 300 millimetre wafer fabrication plant in Dresden, Saxony, aimed at automotive and industrial chip demand in Europe. When fully running the fab is planned to turn out 40,000 wafers a month on TSMC's 28 and 22 nanometre planar CMOS and 16 and 12 nanometre FinFET processes, making it the first pure play foundry in the European Union able to produce FinFET devices, and to employ around 2,000 people directly. Total investment is expected to exceed 10 billion euros, including a 5 billion euro German support measure cleared by the European Commission under state aid rules. TSMC contributes the process technology and runs the plant, while Bosch, Infineon and NXP are minority partners and prospective customers. Ground was broken on 20 August 2024 and production is targeted for the end of 2027.
Source
European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (ESMC) GmbH files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from TSMC, Bosch, Infineon and NXP establish joint venture to bring advanced semiconductor manufacturing to Europe, TSMC press release, ESMC breaks ground on Dresden fab, TSMC press release and TSMC, Bosch, Infineon and NXP establish joint venture, Infineon Technologies press release. The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- NXP Semiconductors N.V., as of 28 Jun 2026. Q2 FY2026 10-Q, equity-accounted investees table: ESMC carrying value $184 million at 10.00% shareholding, up from $180 million (also 10.00%) at 31 Dec 2025. NXP accounts for ESMC under the equity method due to significant influence (board/shareholders'-committee representation), not control, even though its ownership stake is a minority alongside three other partners. sourcesource 2
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (ESMC) GmbH where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
