Compania Minera Miski Mayo S.R.L. owns and operates the Bayovar phosphate mine in the Sechura Desert of the Piura region in northern Peru, a surface operation working shallow marine phosphate beds that began production in 2010 and is one of the largest phosphate rock sources in South America. It mines, beneficiates and dries phosphate rock concentrate at a grade of roughly 30 percent phosphorus pentoxide, and ships the rock to fertilizer producers abroad, including the phosphate concentrate plants on the United States Gulf Coast in Louisiana for which it is the primary source of rock. Its environmental obligations, set under the 2015 amendment to its Peruvian environmental impact assessment, cover monitoring of wastewater, surface water, groundwater, air quality and noise, plus routine internal and third party inspection of the stability of its tailings storage facilities.
Source
Compania Minera Miski Mayo S.R.L. (Miski Mayo Phosphate Mine) files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from The Mosaic Company Form 10-K for the year ended 31 December 2025 (SEC) and Bayovar mine (Wikipedia). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- The Mosaic Company. CONFIRMED from the FY2025 10-K (Business section and Item 2 Properties, Table 2.3): Mosaic holds a 75% economic interest in the Miski Mayo Phosphate Mine in Sechura Province, Piura Region, Peru, held through a wholly-owned indirect Mosaic subsidiary. Because Mosaic holds majority control, Miski Mayo is CONSOLIDATED into the Phosphate segment (not equity-method), so no separate fair value or standalone equity balance for the 75% stake is disclosed; it is embedded in Mosaic's consolidated PP&E, inventory and noncontrolling-interest lines rather than broken out. The remaining 25% is held by an unnamed minority partner; the FY2025 10-K, Q2 2026 10-Q and Exhibit 21 subsidiary list do not name that counterparty, so no cross-check against another company in this database is possible. Exhibit 21 lists 'Compania Minera Miski Mayo S.R.L. / Peru' as a subsidiary with NO ownership-percentage column (a bare name list across the whole exhibit), so the 75% figure is sourced to the 10-K body text, not the exhibit. sourcesource 2
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Compania Minera Miski Mayo S.R.L. (Miski Mayo Phosphate Mine) where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
