Cogentrix Co-Investment Fund, LP is a Delaware limited partnership formed in 2024 as a private equity co-investment vehicle, which began raising capital from qualified investors under a Regulation D private placement in January 2025. Its assets are interests in 11 natural gas fired power plants in the United States, and because the partnership is treated as an investment company it carries those interests at fair value rather than consolidating the plants, so its reported results move with plant valuations rather than with plant level revenue. The fund is run out of 800 Capitol Street in Houston, the office of the energy focused private equity firm Quantum Capital Group. During 2025 an agreement was announced to sell a significant portion of the underlying power plant assets, which raised the carrying value of the fund's holdings.
Source
Cogentrix Co-Investment Fund, LP files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Cogentrix Co-Investment Fund, LP Form D, filed 17 January 2025 (SEC), The Williams Companies, Inc. Form 10-K for the year ended 31 December 2025 (SEC) and Quantum Capital Group contact page. The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- The Williams Companies, Inc., as of 30 Jun 2026. Equity-method limited partnership interest, not denominated in shares, so shares is null. Q2 2026 10-Q, Note 2 (Variable Interest Entities): 'The Cogentrix investment represents an approximate 10 percent indirect interest in 11 natural gas power plants... At June 30, 2026, the carrying value of our investment in Cogentrix was $289 million.' Purchased March 2025; the investee is accounted for as an investment company at fair value, so this carrying value already reflects an announced agreement to sell a significant portion of the underlying power plant assets. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Cogentrix Co-Investment Fund, LP where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
