Chengdu Air & Gas Products Co., Ltd. owns and operates an air separation unit in Sichuan province, China, that pipes oxygen and nitrogen to PetroChina's refinery and ethylene complex there and also produces liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon sold to merchant industrial gas customers around Chengdu. The plant came on stream in late 2011 and was designed and largely built by Air Products' engineering centre in Shanghai and its cryogenic equipment works at Caojing near Shanghai. It is a venture between Prodair Corporation, an Air Products subsidiary that supplies the air separation technology, plant engineering and gas marketing, and PetroChina Sichuan Petrochemical Co., Ltd., itself a venture of PetroChina and the Chengdu city government, which provides the site and anchors demand as the offtaking customer.
