Brewers Distributor Ltd. is the wholesale beer distribution and warehousing business for western and northern Canada. It takes beer from breweries and moves it to licensed retailers, liquor stores and hospitality customers across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon, running nine distribution centres and four cross dock facilities from a head office in Calgary, and it handles the reverse flow as well, collecting returnable, refillable and recyclable beer containers for reuse and recycling. It does not sell to consumers and it does not carry wine or spirits, which provincial liquor corporations handle. The company was created in 1995 by merging four regional beer distribution operations, Pacific Brewers Distributor in British Columbia, Alberta Brewers Agents, the Saskatchewan Brewers Association and Associated Beer Distributors in Manitoba, and it is run as an equally shared venture between Molson Coors and Labatt Breweries of Canada, the AB InBev subsidiary.
Source
Brewers Distributor Ltd. (BDL, Western Canada) files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Brewers Distributor Limited corporate site, Brewers' Distributor (Wikipedia) and Careers at The Beer Store and Brewers Distributor Ltd.. The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Molson Coors Beverage Company, as of 30 Jun 2026. Same combined equity-method balance and same 10-Q Note 3 disclosure as BRI (see that row): 'Our equity method investments include our ownership interests in Brewers Retail Inc. ("BRI") and Brewers Distributor Ltd. ("BDL"), as well as other immaterial investments,' with a single undisclosed-split total of $145.3 million (30 Jun 2026) / $135.7 million (31 Dec 2025). BDL is a Western Canada (Alberta, BC, Manitoba, Saskatchewan) beer distribution joint venture. Ownership percentage not disclosed in SEC filings; a web search found only that BDL is described as jointly owned by AB InBev (Labatt) and Molson Coors, with no percentage split found in any source checked. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Brewers Distributor Ltd. (BDL, Western Canada) where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
