Brasilprev is a Brazilian private pension company that sells and administers long term retirement and savings plans, the PGBL and VGBL contracts that make up most household retirement saving in Brazil. Its range covers individual plans opened from R$100, plans for children, corporate schemes for employers, and lifecycle funds that shift from equities toward fixed income as the holder approaches the target date, and it reports assets under management of about R$471.6 billion for more than 2.5 million customers, roughly a quarter of the Brazilian private pension market. Set up in 1993, it distributes almost entirely through the Banco do Brasil branch network, which gives it reach across the country without its own retail footprint. It is a joint venture between BB Seguros, the insurance and pension arm of Banco do Brasil, and Principal Financial Group, which contributes investment management expertise, under a partnership formed in 1999 and extended in 2009 for a further 23 years.
Source
Brasilprev Seguros e Previdencia S.A. files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Sobre a Brasilprev (Brasilprev corporate site), History (BB Seguridade investor relations) and Principal Financial extends joint venture in Brazil (InsuranceNewsNet). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Principal Financial Group, Inc.. FY2025 10-K, Item 1 Business (Latin America/Brazil section): 'We offer pension accumulation, income annuity and life insurance accumulation products through a co-managed joint venture Brasilprev Seguros e Previdencia S.A. ("Brasilprev") with our partner with Banco do Brasil ("Banco"). We owned 25.0% of the economic interest and 50.0% of the voting shares as of December 31, 2025.' pct_of_target here is the economic interest (25.0); the voting stake (50.0%) is recorded here for completeness because economic and voting ownership diverge on this JV. No share count or dollar value disclosed. sourcesource 2
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of Brasilprev Seguros e Previdencia S.A. where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
