ADM/Matsutani LLC handles worldwide sales and marketing of Fibersol, a soluble prebiotic dietary fiber made from corn starch and sold into food, beverage and dietary supplement formulations under names including Fibersol-2, Fibersol-2 AG, Fibersol-LQ and Fibersol-HS. The venture was formed on 1 May 2006 by Archer Daniels Midland with Matsutani Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. of Japan and its American arm Matsutani America, after roughly a decade in which the two sides had already worked together on the ingredient. Matsutani invented Fibersol-2 and supplies the technical and scientific side, including the research on gut health and blood sugar response used to market it, while ADM supplies the manufacturing and distribution, producing the ingredient at its Clinton, Iowa plant since 1999 and later adding capacity in China.
Source
ADM / Matsutani LLC files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from ADM and Matsutani Form Joint Venture for Sales and Marketing of Fibersol-2 (ADM), ADM and Matsutani Mark 20 Years of Partnership and Innovation (ADM), ADM opens Fibersol facility in China (New Food Magazine) and ADM/Matsutani LLC supplier profile (FoodNavigator). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- Archer-Daniels-Midland Company. Written here as 50.0, not 0.5, per the 10-Q text: 'ADM / Matsutani LLC (50.0%)'. Joint venture with Japan's Matsutani Chemical Industry, per the entity name. No individual carrying value disclosed; covered by the same combined $5,901 million balance described on the Pacificor row, so value_usd stays null. source
What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of ADM / Matsutani LLC where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
