500 North Capitol Venture LLC owns 500 North Capitol Street NW, a Class A office building of about 231,000 rentable square feet in the Capitol Hill submarket of Washington, DC, a short walk from the Metro and Amtrak services at Union Station. The venture bought the building in 2010, when it was a 1960s eight storey block let to a single tenant, took it out of service when that lease ran out in 2011 and rebuilt it to a Gensler design, adding a ninth floor of conference space and a roof deck, replacing the facade with a two storey bay window at street level, refitting the mechanical and electrical systems and lifts, reworking the floor plates and adding retail at the base. The redevelopment was placed back in service on 31 March 2013, and the building offers views of the Capitol from the roof terrace and from the office floors.
Source
500 North Capitol Venture LLC (500 North Capitol Street, NW) files nothing with the SEC, so none of this comes from a filer record. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Boston Properties Inc. Form 10-Q for the quarter ended 30 September 2013 (SEC), 500 N. Capitol Street, NW (Clark Construction), 500 North Capitol (Gensler) and 500 North Capitol (BXP). The ownership figures below come from the holders' filings instead, and are sourced row by row.
The disclosed stakes
One row per position. Where a holder reports the same company in two share classes, both rows are shown rather than summed, because the class is part of a position's identity.
Where each figure comes from
A private stake has no ownership form behind it, so the source is always the holder's own filing or disclosure. Anything modelled says so, with the arithmetic.
- BXP, Inc. (formerly Boston Properties), as of 30 Jun 2026. BXP holds a 30% interest in the joint venture that owns 500 North Capitol Street, NW, a roughly 231,000 sq ft office property in Washington, DC. The equity-method carrying value is a DEFICIT balance ($(12,876) thousand at 6/30/2026, $(12,655) thousand at 12/31/2025) because cumulative distributions exceeded the investment; per the 10-Q, deficit-balance investments (this one plus Safeco Plaza) are reclassified into Other Liabilities on BXP's consolidated balance sheet rather than the asset-side 'Investments in unconsolidated joint ventures' line. What this page is not
It is not a complete register. It lists the holders who happen to be inside the researched set and disclosed the stake themselves. A private company can have many other shareholders, and nothing here rules them out: venture investors, founders and employees usually appear in no public filing at all. Percentages are of 500 North Capitol Venture LLC (500 North Capitol Street, NW) where a holder stated one, and are missing where no holder did.
