Address, industry classification, listing and incorporation come from Zoetis Inc.'s own SEC filer record, so the industry is the SEC's dry classification rather than a marketing label. Description
Zoetis Inc. is an American drug company, the world's largest producer of medicine and vaccinations for pets and livestock. The company was a subsidiary of Pfizer, the world's largest drug maker, but with Pfizer's spinoff of its 83% interest in the firm it is now a completely independent company. The company directly markets its products in approximately 45 countries, and sells them in more than 100 countries. Operations outside the United States accounted for 50% of the total revenue. Contemporaneous with the spinoff in June 2013 S&P Dow Jones Indices announced that Zoetis would replace First Horizon National Corporation in the S&P 500 stock market index.

The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 1,589 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
1,589 managers reported a position, together holding 408.1m shares, or 97.3% of the company. The 40 largest are listed. Percentages are of the 419.2m shares outstanding at 1 May 2026, the count in force when this quarter was measured rather than the count today.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- No equity-method, strategic, or unconsolidated investments found. The Q2 2026 10-Q (filed 6 Aug 2026) was searched in full for 'equity method', 'equity securities', 'strategic investment', 'unconsolidated', 'joint venture', 'investment in', 'non-marketable', and 'collaboration'. The FY2025 10-K (filed 12 Feb 2026) was searched with the same terms plus 'other investments'. The only 'equity securities' hits in either filing are (a) issuer repurchases of Zoetis's own stock, and (b) pension-plan asset allocation (equity commingled funds inside the defined-benefit plan trust, not a corporate holding). 'Strategic investment' hits refer only to R&D spending priorities, not equity stakes. 'Joint venture' and 'collaboration' hits (e.g. the 2024 R&D collaboration with Blacksmith Medicines) are licensing/research arrangements; neither filing states that Zoetis purchased shares or holds an equity interest in any collaborator. Zoetis was spun out of Pfizer via IPO in February 2013 and a 2013 split-off exchange; no current parent equity relationship exists, and neither filing mentions a residual Pfizer stake. Holdings is therefore correctly empty, not unresearched.
- Register reconciliation on Vanguard and BlackRock. Zoetis's 2026 proxy (Schedule 13G/A basis, share count as of 20 March 2026) reports The Vanguard Group at 47,778,909 shares (11.36%) and BlackRock, Inc. at 36,492,748 shares (8.68%, from a 13G/A filed 26 Jan 2024 with data as of 31 Dec 2023), the only two holders it identifies as beneficially owning more than 5%. The register instead uses each manager's Q2 2026 Form 13F-HR (30 June 2026 position dates): Vanguard's successor entities sum to 49,888,429 shares and BlackRock reports 39,430,181 shares, both higher than the proxy/13G figures, consistent with position growth between those earlier measurement dates and 30 June 2026 rather than a data error.
- Vanguard Group Inc (CIK 0000102909) filed 13F-NT (notice) for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, consistent with the January 2026 reorganisation of Vanguard's 13F filing structure seen elsewhere in this project (see pnc.json). Per the brief's Vanguard rule this is the 13F-NT case: the register uses the sum of the two successor entities, Vanguard Capital Management LLC and Vanguard Portfolio Management LLC, as a single substituted 'The Vanguard Group' row.
- Capital Group. Checked all three specified Capital Group entities individually for Q2 2026: Capital World Investors (CIK 0001422849) and Capital International Investors (CIK 0001562230) do not hold Zoetis (no name match and no CUSIP 98978V103 match in either filing); Capital Research Global Investors (CIK 0001422848) holds 980,811 shares. The 'Capital Group' register row reflects only the one entity that actually holds the stock.
- Implied price per share was computed for every register row (value_usd / shares) as a thousands-convention check: all thirteen institutional 13F rows cluster tightly at $71.86 per share (Zoetis's 30 June 2026 closing price), so no row required rescaling.
- Zoetis has a single class of common stock ($0.01 par value, one vote per share) and no dual-class or founder-control structure. Insider ownership is immaterial: CEO Kristin C. Peck beneficially owns 492,586 shares (0.117%) and the 22-person director/executive-officer group owns 912,848 shares (0.217%), both under 1% per the proxy's own statement.
- Self-gate: 13 non-member, non-aggregate register rows (all institutional 13F holders; the two insider rows are excluded as members/aggregate of each other) sum to 158,818,732 shares against 413,223,602 shares outstanding, or 38.43%, within the expected 25 to 45 percent range.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- Whether Vanguard-affiliated 13F filers other than Vanguard Capital Management LLC and Vanguard Portfolio Management LLC (e.g. Vanguard Advisers Inc, Vanguard Fiduciary Trust Co, Vanguard Global Advisers) also hold Zoetis shares for Q2 2026. Not checked individually within the time budget; if they do, the true Vanguard aggregate is somewhat higher than the 49,888,429 shares used here. The Q1 2026 (31 Mar 2026) register snapshot at data/registers/ZTS.json lists a broader set of 8 Vanguard-affiliated CIKs summing to 54,398,808 shares for that earlier quarter, consistent with additional smaller Vanguard filers existing but not individually re-verified for Q2.
- Whether any Schedule 13D or fresh 13G has been filed on Zoetis common stock since the stale BlackRock 13G/A (filed Jan 2024, data as of Dec 2023) cited in the 2026 proxy. Not independently searched on EDGAR's full-text search within the time budget; the register instead relies on Q2 2026 13F-HR data for both Vanguard and BlackRock, which is more current than either proxy-cited 13G.
- The identities of holders ranked below FMR/Fidelity in overall Zoetis ownership (e.g. Deutsche Bank, UBS, Mitsubishi UFJ, Polen Capital, Brown Advisory, Van Eck, BNY Mellon, Fundsmith, all visible in the Q1 2026 register snapshot) were not individually verified against their own Q2 2026 13F-HR filings, since the thirteen institutional holders already sourced satisfy the brief's top 8 to 12 requirement plus the mandated Capital Group and Norges Bank checks.
- T. Rowe Price, Schwab Investment Management, MFS, and JPMorgan (from the verified manager CIK list) were checked in the Q1 2026 snapshot's top-20 list but did not appear there in a ranked position ahead of the holders already sourced, so their Q2 2026 13F-HRs were not individually pulled within the time budget.
