Address, industry classification, listing and incorporation come from Weyerhaeuser Company's own SEC filer record, so the industry is the SEC's dry classification rather than a marketing label. Description
The Weyerhaeuser Company is an American timberland company which owns approximately 10,400,000 acres (16,200 sq mi; 42,000 km2) of timberlands in the U.S., and manages an additional 14,000,000 acres (22,000 sq mi; 57,000 km2) of timberlands under long-term licenses in Canada. The company has manufactured wood products for over a century. It operates as a real estate investment trust (REIT).

The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 881 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
881 managers reported a position, together holding 638.3m shares, or 88.5% of the company. The 40 largest are listed. Percentages are of the 721.0m shares outstanding at 27 Apr 2026, the count in force when this quarter was measured rather than the count today.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Holdings side (what Weyerhaeuser owns in others): searched the FY2025 10-K (filed 2026-02-13, https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/106535/000119312526051422/wy-20251231.htm) and the Q2 2026 10-Q (filed 2026-07-31, period 2026-06-30, https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/106535/000119312526328606/wy-20260630.htm) via scripts/filing.py search/prose for 'equity method', 'unconsolidated', 'joint venture', 'non-marketable', 'variable interest entity', 'minority interest', 'noncontrolling interest', 'equity securities', 'equity investment', 'equity interest' and 'wholly owned subsidiary'. Every hit in the 10-Q was zero. In the 10-K, 'joint venture' returned 3 hits, all generic risk-factor boilerplate about JV structures Weyerhaeuser 'may' enter into, naming no actual venture, partner or ownership percentage. 'equity investment' hits were all pension-trust asset-allocation disclosures (public/private equity inside the pension fund), not a Weyerhaeuser-owned equity stake in another operating entity. Also checked Exhibit 21 to the 10-K (https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/106535/000119312526051422/wy-ex21.htm): it is a bare name-plus-state-of-incorporation list of wholly owned subsidiaries (Weyerhaeuser NR Company, Weyerhaeuser International Inc., Weyerhaeuser Company Limited, Weyerhaeuser Timber Holdings Inc., Weyerhaeuser Forest Holdings Inc., etc.) with no ownership-percentage column, the same 'genuine negative' pattern documented for Darden and Labcorp in this project.
- Weyerhaeuser's Real Estate, Natural Resources and Climate Solutions activities (timberland tract sales, mineral-rights leasing for construction aggregates and natural gas, ground leases and easements to third-party wind/solar developers, forest-carbon credit sales, carbon capture and sequestration leasing, and mitigation-banking credits) are all described in the 10-K as leases, easements, rights grants or outright sales of land and rights Weyerhaeuser itself owns and consolidates, never as an equity interest in a separate joint-venture or portfolio entity. This matches the Evergy (undivided generating-plant interests) and DTE (Belle River, Ludington) precedent: these are property arrangements, not equity stakes in a company, so none were added to holdings.
- No named joint venture, non-marketable equity security, equity-method investee, or minority equity stake in another company was found in either filing searched. Holdings is genuinely empty, not an unresearched gap.
- Register: enumerated the holder-entity LIST (never the share figures) from this project's own 31 Mar 2026 snapshot data/registers/WY.json (40 holders, incl. Vanguard as a 7-entity family and single-CIK State Street/BlackRock/Geode/FMR/Morgan Stanley/Goldman Sachs families). Capital Group (Capital World Investors 0001422849, Capital International Investors 0001562230, Capital Research Global Investors 0001422848) does not appear anywhere in that snapshot; per the project's Clorox precedent this can mean the snapshot is incomplete, so all three CIKs were checked directly against their own fresh Q2 2026 13F-HR information tables by both issuer name ('WEYERHAEUSER'/'WEYER') and CUSIP 962166104. All three genuinely hold zero WY shares as of 30 Jun 2026; not recorded as rows. Other Capital International registrants beyond these three canonical CIKs were not individually swept given the zero result on all three checked; flagged in unknowns.
- T. Rowe Price Investment Management, Inc. (CIK 0001897612), the separate registrant flagged in this project's playbook, was checked directly (own Q2 2026 13F-HR, by name and by CUSIP 962166104) and holds zero WY shares. Only T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. (CIK 0000080255) holds a position; recorded as a row above.
- Self-gate, computed on the final file exactly as the chart computes it (no rows carry is_aggregate or rolls_up_into, so every row counts at full raw share value): 10 register rows, 383,033,875 shares summed, 720,692,000 shares_outstanding (10-Q, 30 Jun 2026), 53.15% of the company. Within the documented 15-55% plausible band for a widely held company with no proxy-aggregate insider group.
- Weyerhaeuser has no founder, controlling shareholder or dual-class structure. The April 2026 DEF 14A's 'Beneficial Ownership of Directors and Named Executive Officers' table was reviewed; no individual director or officer approaches a material (1%+) stake, so no insider row was added. The proxy's own 'Owners of More Than 5 Percent' table (BlackRock 61,330,907 sh/8.5% per a stale Feb-2024-era Schedule 13G/A citation, First Eagle 38,070,081 sh/5.28%, Vanguard 114,970,389 sh/15.95%, Wellington 37,303,173 sh/5.17%) is systematically stale versus the fresh Q2 2026 13F figures used in the register above and was used only as a cross-check, not as a source, per the project's rule to prefer fresh 13F data over a proxy-quoted 13G.
- Implied-price cross-check across filers for 30 Jun 2026: BlackRock, State Street, Geode, Wellington, First Eagle, BNY Mellon and FMR all imply approximately $23.83-23.94 per share directly from their filed dollar values. Cohen & Steers and T. Rowe Price Associates both implied approximately $0.024/share taken literally; both were identified as reporting VALUE in thousands and corrected by x1,000 in value_usd above (shares were unaffected).
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- Whether Weyerhaeuser holds any immaterial equity stake bundled into an unbroken 'other assets' line item on the balance sheet; the 10-K and 10-Q line item 'Other assets' ($379m/$397m) is not itemized further in the text windows searched and was not pursued further given no equity-method or JV language was found anywhere else in either filing.
- The full Capital Group family beyond the three canonical CIKs (Capital World Investors, Capital International Investors, Capital Research Global Investors) was not swept; this project's TransDigm research noted additional Capital International registrants can exist and hold. All three checked CIKs hold zero WY, so the family total is presumed zero for Q2 2026 but not exhaustively confirmed across every possible Capital Group registrant.
- Legal & General Group Plc (~13.0M sh), Invesco Ltd. (~12.0M sh), Allspring Global Investments (~10.9M sh) and other mid-size holders visible in the 31 Mar 2026 snapshot were not individually refreshed to Q2 2026, since the top 10 holders already meet the brief's 8-12 target and the self-gate lands in the expected range without them.
