Address, industry classification, listing and incorporation come from Vertiv Holdings Co's own SEC filer record, so the industry is the SEC's dry classification rather than a marketing label. The website was checked for this site against the company's own pages. The headcount is the figure the sources below state for 2025. The description was written for this site in August 2026 from Vertiv Holdings Co Form 10-K for fiscal year 2025, Vertiv, Wikipedia and About Vertiv, vertiv.com, not taken from any single article.

Description
Vertiv Holdings Co designs, manufactures, installs and services the power and cooling equipment that keeps data centers, communication networks and industrial sites running: AC and DC power management, uninterruptible power supplies, switchgear and busbar, air cooled and liquid cooled thermal management, racks, energy storage and infrastructure management software, sold under brands including Liebert, NetSure, Geist and Avocent. It reports three geographic segments, and of $10.23 billion of 2025 net sales, 62 percent was transacted in the Americas, 20 percent in Asia Pacific and 18 percent in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Demand from artificial intelligence computing has pushed order backlog to $15.0 billion at the end of 2025 from $7.2 billion a year earlier. The business is the former Emerson Network Power, which Emerson Electric divested in 2016 and which was then renamed Vertiv; it listed on the New York Stock Exchange in February 2020 through a business combination with the special purpose acquisition company GS Acquisition Holdings Corp. It employed about 34,000 people at 31 December 2025.

The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 1,808 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
1,808 managers reported a position, together holding 315.1m shares, or 82.0% of the company. The 40 largest are listed. Percentages are of the 384.1m shares outstanding at 20 Apr 2026, the count in force when this quarter was measured rather than the count today.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- SPAC HAZARD, confirmed via primary filings: CIK 0001674101 was originally GS Acquisition Holdings Corp (GSAH), a special purpose acquisition company. GSAH combined with Vertiv on 7 Feb 2020 (the 'Business Combination'), per VRT's 2026 DEF 14A. Any filing under this CIK dated before 7 Feb 2020 describes GSAH, a different entity, not Vertiv's operating business; none of the figures in this file are drawn from that pre-combination period.
- PLATINUM EQUITY, CONFIRMED FULL EXIT, recorded as a note per the project's rule (a confirmed dated exit is a note, not a row): Platinum Equity was Vertiv's private-equity sponsor following the 2020 SPAC combination. Its last Schedule 13D/A on VRT (filed 9 Aug 2023, CIK 0001228754 and affiliated entities Platinum Equity Partners III LLC, Platinum Equity Investment Holdings III LLC, Platinum Equity InvestCo LP, Platinum Equity Investment Holdings IC (Cayman) LLC, Platinum Equity Investment Holdings LLC, Platinum Equity LLC, VPE Holdings LLC) reported the family group at 18,071,155 shares, 4.7% of the class, already below the 5% reporting threshold. A Form 4 filed 1 Mar 2024 (period 29 Feb 2024, accession 0001104659-24-030006, issuer confirmed as Vertiv Holdings Co CIK 0001674101, file number 001-38518) shows VPE Holdings, LLC (the direct record holder, with Platinum Equity, LLC, Tom Gores and the chain of affiliated Platinum Equity vehicles named as indirect beneficial owners per the filing's footnotes) disposing of its entire remaining 7,955,215 shares at $65.9785/share on 29 Feb 2024, with shares owned following the transaction reported as 0. Checked EDGAR full text search and the CIK 0001228754 filer history through Aug 2026: no Form 4, 13D/A or 13G has since been filed against VRT's file number (001-38518) by any Platinum Equity entity; later Form 4s under the same reporting CIK (through Jun 2026) are all for other Platinum Equity portfolio companies under different SEC file numbers, not Vertiv. VRT's 2026 DEF 14A (as of 15 Apr 2026) does not list Platinum Equity anywhere in its 5%-holders table, consistent with a full exit. Conclusion: Platinum Equity fully exited its Vertiv stake by 29 Feb 2024 and holds nothing as of this research; no register row is carried for it.
- WARRANTS, historical only, not a current register position: VRT's FY2025 10-K XBRL tags reference 'Private Placement Warrant' activity tied to Class A common stock with exercise/conversion dates of 24 Feb 2023 and 6 Dec 2024, i.e. the SPAC-era private placement warrants had already been exercised or otherwise resolved before the period covered by this research; no current 13F, 13D/G or proxy disclosure in this file reflects a warrant-denominated holder, so this is noted for completeness rather than sized.
- HOLDINGS SIDE IS A SOURCED NEGATIVE: searched VRT's newest 10-K (FY2025, filed 13 Feb 2026, period ended 31 Dec 2025) and newest 10-Q (Q2 2026, filed 29 Jul 2026, period ended 30 Jun 2026) in full for 'equity method', 'unconsolidated', 'joint venture', 'noncontrolling interest', 'non-marketable', 'investments in affiliates', 'variable interest entit', 'cost method', 'unrealized gain', 'minority interest' and 'non-controlling interest'. The only substantive hit was generic risk-factor boilerplate ('we have in the past and may in the future...form joint ventures...or choose to invest in early-stage companies') with no named investee, no equity-method balance, and no VIE disclosure. Exhibit 21.1 (subsidiaries list, filed with the FY2025 10-K) was checked directly and is a bare country/entity-name list with NO ownership-percentage column: every listed entity reads as a standard wholly-owned operating subsidiary (the pattern this project treats as a genuine negative rather than evidence of looking in the wrong place, as opposed to filings like Quest Diagnostics' or PPG's Exhibit 21 which do carry a percentage column). Conclusion: Vertiv discloses no equity-method investments, joint ventures, or minority stakes in other companies as of this research; the holdings array is intentionally empty.
- shares_outstanding_as_of denominator used for every pct_of_company figure in this file is 384,988,173 Class A common shares outstanding as of 27 Jul 2026 (VRT's Q2 2026 10-Q cover page). Vertiv has a single class of common stock (Class A); no dual-class structure, so no share_classes block is included.
- Implied-price check run on every institutional row: Vanguard family $334.83/sh, BlackRock $334.83/sh, State Street $334.83/sh, Geode $334.62/sh, T. Rowe Price (corrected from as-filed thousands) $334.82/sh, Bank of America $334.83/sh, Morgan Stanley $334.83/sh, Invesco $334.83/sh. All eight cluster tightly around $334.8, confirming consistent units and a shared 30 Jun 2026 measurement date across filers, despite the current (20 Aug 2026) quoted price of $264.00 being substantially lower, i.e. VRT's share price fell materially between the 13F measurement date and today; market_cap_usd in this file uses the current price, not the 13F-implied price.
- Capital Group checked and found genuinely small, not a register row: all three primary Capital Group registrants for Q2 2026 were checked individually against CUSIP 92537N108: Capital World Investors (CIK 0001422849) no VRT holding; Capital Research Global Investors (CIK 0001422848) no VRT holding; Capital International Investors (CIK 0001562230) holds 177,341 shares, $59,377,314 (implied price approximately $334.83/sh, consistent with the cluster above), which is approximately 0.046% of the company, far below both the top-8-to-12 cutoff and any strategic threshold. Not carried as a register row; recorded here so the check is not repeated or misread as a gap.
- Self-gate, computed from this FINAL file using the project's chart formula (raw shares summed, no rolls_up_into containers present in this file so every row counts at full value): 9 register rows, 142,533,207 total shares, 384,988,173 shares outstanding, 37.02% of the company. Within the expected roughly 25% to 45% band, consistent with a large-cap industrial name that is heavily but not extremely institutionally held; no corroboration beyond the implied-price and per-holder checks above was required.
- No em dashes used anywhere in this file per project style.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- No current (Q2 2026 period) figure exists for the Platinum Equity sponsor stake because it is a confirmed, dated full exit (29 Feb 2024); see notes for the last sized filing.
- BlackRock's DEF 14A-cited Schedule 13G figure (21,308,858 sh, 5.55%, as of 15 Apr 2026 proxy record date) was not independently re-fetched as a separate 13G filing since a fresher Q2 2026 13F-HR figure was available and is preferred per the project's rule; the underlying 13G accession was not located or read in this research.
- JPMorgan Chase & Co and Fidelity (FMR LLC), both visible at meaningful size (roughly 1.5% to 1.6% of the company) in this project's own 31 Mar 2026 register snapshot (data/registers/VRT.json), were not individually re-verified against a fresh Q2 2026 13F-HR in this file; time budget was allocated to the eight largest verified institutional holders plus the insider aggregate and the SPAC/PE-sponsor hazard checks instead. Their approximate March 2026 snapshot sizes (JPMorgan 6,065,726 sh; Fidelity/FMR 5,413,853 sh) are visible in that snapshot file but were not treated as filed positions here and are not included as register rows.
