Address, industry classification, listing and incorporation come from Rivian Automotive, Inc.'s own SEC filer record, so the industry is the SEC's dry classification rather than a marketing label. Description
Rivian Automotive, Inc. designs and manufactures electric vehicles along with the electrical architecture, software, autonomy platform and propulsion technology inside them, selling directly to consumer and commercial customers. It reports two segments. Automotive covers the R1T pickup, the R1S SUV and the Rivian Commercial Van, all built at its Normal, Illinois factory, and generated $3,830 million of revenue in 2025 on 42,247 vehicles delivered, at a gross loss of $432 million. Software and Services, led by vehicle electrical architecture and software development work done through the Volkswagen Group joint venture plus repair, remarketing and other services, grew to $1,557 million. Total 2025 revenue was $5,387 million and the net loss was $3,626 million. Amazon, a principal stockholder that has placed an initial order for 100,000 electric delivery vans, accounted for $900 million of 2025 revenue. In the first half of 2026 Rivian delivered 22,559 vehicles for revenue of $3,039 million. It had 15,232 employees at 31 December 2025.
Who owns Rivian Automotive, Inc..
Nothing recorded on this side. That is a sourced finding rather than a gap where the research notes say so: see the notes below.
Select a row or a slice for its provenance: the filing it came from, when it was measured, and the arithmetic behind it if it was modelled.
The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 794 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
794 managers reported a position, together holding 662.6m shares. The 40 largest are listed.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Added 22 Aug 2026 by scripts/promote_discovered.py. This company reached the site because a covered investor holds it, not because an index listed it: it was a position in a portfolio here with no page of its own. The match was proved by requiring the register built for this CIK to contain the same CUSIP the portfolio held.
- Discovered at CUSIP 76954A103, held by allstate, amazon, ameriprise, bank-of-america, blackrock, blackstone, bny-mellon, capital-group, citigroup, citizens-financial, fidelity-fmr, fifth-third, franklin-resources, geode, goldman-sachs, huntington-bancshares, invesco, jpmorgan, metlife, morgan-stanley, mt-bank, northern-trust, pnc, prudential-financial, raymond-james, state-street, truist, us-bancorp, vanguard, wells-fargo.
- Holdings are NOT researched. The empty holdings list means nobody has looked at what this company owns, not that it owns nothing, and the page says so.
- Shares outstanding and market cap are null rather than guessed. Neither was captured on the dated sweep that carries every other company here.
