No equity stake in another company appears in IDEX Corporation's filings. That is the sourced answer, not a hole in the research.

The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 660 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
660 managers reported a position, together holding 74.8m shares, or 101.1% of the company. The 40 largest are listed. Percentages are of the 74.0m shares outstanding at 24 Apr 2026, the count in force when this quarter was measured rather than the count today.
This adds up to more than the whole company, and that is what the filings say. A 13F total can exceed 100% because the same share can be reported twice: when a holder lends stock, the borrower sells it to someone else, and both the lender's manager and the new buyer's manager report it. The gap tracks how heavily a stock is shorted. It is a property of 13F rather than a fault in this data, so it is shown as filed, and it cannot be used as evidence that a particular holder's stake is large.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Shares outstanding (73,719,896) is taken from the cover page of the 10-Q for the quarter ended 30 Jun 2026 (filed 29 Jul 2026, 'Number of shares of common stock of IDEX Corporation outstanding as of July 24, 2026: 73,719,896'). This is the newest cover-page count available as of 20 Aug 2026: IDEX's FY2025 10-K (filed 19 Feb 2026) and the FY2026 DEF 14A (filed 26 Mar 2026, record date 12 Mar 2026, 74,202,616 shares) are both older. A subsequent 8-K (filed 17 Aug 2026) was checked and does not restate shares outstanding.
- Holdings side: searched the FY2025 10-K (filed 19 Feb 2026, period ended 31 Dec 2025) and the Q2 FY2026 10-Q (period 30 Jun 2026) for 'equity method', 'equity investment', 'non-marketable', 'joint venture', 'unconsolidated', 'minority interest', and 'affiliate'. The 10-K's Note 3, 'Collaborative Investments', is the only substantive hit and discloses exactly two items, both excluded from holdings for reasons stated below; the Q2 10-Q repeats none of this note (it only mentions the joint venture once, in a restructuring-charges footnote, with no new figures). No other equity-method investee, non-marketable security, or minority interest is disclosed anywhere in either filing.
- Item 1 (Collaborative Investments, item 1 of 2): a joint venture formed 12 May 2020 with a third party in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, manufacturing elastomer seals for the oil and gas industry (part of the Sealing Solutions reporting unit, HST segment). IDEX contributed $0.7 million for 55% of the share capital; the third-party partner contributed $0.6 million for 45%. The 10-K states explicitly: 'Since IDEX controls the entity, IDEX has consolidated the Joint Venture and recorded a Noncontrolling interest in its Consolidated Financial Statements.' This is EXCLUDED from holdings: it is a majority-owned, IDEX-controlled, consolidated entity (the reverse direction from a holding, i.e. a third party holds a noncontrolling interest in a subsidiary of IDEX), which the brief's exclusion for wholly-owned/controlled operating subsidiaries covers in spirit even though the ownership is 55% rather than 100%.
- Item 2 (Collaborative Investments, item 2 of 2): during 2021-2022 a subsidiary of IDEX funded $7.2 million in promissory notes to an unnamed start-up providing communication technology for firefighters (aligned with the FSDP segment). In Q2 2023 IDEX recorded a $7.7 million credit loss reserve against the full principal and accrued interest, and in Q4 2023 converted the notes to equity, 'resulting in a cost method investment with zero value.' This is EXCLUDED from holdings: the filing itself states its carrying value is zero, so there is no material figure to record, and the investee is never named anywhere in the FY2025 10-K, the Q2 FY2026 10-Q, or Exhibit 21. Recorded here and in unknowns rather than as a null-valued row, since a $0 carrying value is not a stake this database is built to size.
- Exhibit 21 to the FY2025 10-K (List of Subsidiaries) was checked for an ownership-percentage column, per the Pentair/Quest Diagnostics/PPG technique described in the chunk prompt. It carries none: it is a plain two-column table of subsidiary legal name and jurisdiction of incorporation only (over 190 entries), with no joint ventures, no percentage-owned footnotes, and no equity-method affiliates. This is treated as a genuine negative (the Labcorp/Darden pattern), not evidence of looking in the wrong place; the one JV IDEX does disclose (Saudi Arabia, above) does not appear in Exhibit 21 at all, consistent with it being consolidated as if wholly owned.
- The holdings array is empty. This is a legitimate, sourced finding: IDEX is a serial acquirer whose over 190 acquired businesses become wholly-owned, consolidated operating subsidiaries (explicitly stated in the 10-K's Item 1 overview, 'Substantially all of the Company's business activities are carried out through over 50 wholly-owned subsidiaries'), which the brief excludes, and the only two non-wholly-owned items IDEX discloses (the 55%-owned, consolidated Saudi Arabia JV, and the zero-value converted start-up equity) are excluded for the specific reasons above rather than overlooked.
- The 2026 proxy's 5% Beneficial Owners table lists only three names, Vanguard, Wellington Management Group LLP and BlackRock, all sourced to Schedule 13G filings from December 2023, over two years stale. This is NOT the Allegion-style gap (Vanguard was not omitted here), but the table is otherwise thin: State Street (4.50% by fresh Q2 2026 13F) and PRIMECAP Management (4.48%) are both real, current, above-4% holders absent from the proxy table entirely, presumably because their 13G filings never crossed 5% or lapsed below the proxy's disclosure threshold at some point. All institutional rows in this file were sourced from each filer's own fresh Q2 2026 13F-HR rather than the stale proxy citations, and the proxy figures are preserved in each row's method_note as a reconciliation.
- Capital Group: checked directly against ALL ELEVEN Capital Group-affiliated registrants' own Q2 2026 13F filings for CUSIP 45167R104 (IDEX CORP), the same eleven-entity roster used on a prior Aptiv research file in this project: Capital World Investors 0001422849, Capital International Investors 0001562230, Capital Research Global Investors 0001422848, Capital International, Inc./CA/ 0000895213, Capital International Ltd /CA/ 0001065350, Capital International Sarl 0001065349 (all six filed 13F-HR with no IDEX row), Capital Group Companies, Inc. 0000732812, Capital Group International, Inc. 0000949308, Capital Research & Management Co 0000017283 (all three filed Form 13F-NT, no holdings), Capital Group Investment Management Pte. Ltd. 0001939970 and Capital Group Private Client Services, Inc. 0001857666 (both 13F-HR with no IDEX row). None holds IDEX as of 30 Jun 2026. This project's own registers/IEX.json snapshot (31 Mar 2026, entity list only) likewise contains no Capital Group entity. Recorded as a checked-and-found-nothing negative, not a row, per the Snap-on precedent in the chunk prompt.
- No current 13D activist or strategic holder exists: EDGAR's SC 13 filing history for IDEX shows only one SC 13D, filed 22 Dec 2005 with its last amendment in 2005, over two decades stale and long superseded by ordinary 13G filings; no SC 13D or 13D/A has been filed since. No founder or dual-class control structure exists (IDEX was incorporated in Delaware in 1987 and has a single class of common stock).
- Implied-price check: every institutional row (Vanguard family, BlackRock, State Street, PRIMECAP, Morgan Stanley, Geode, Victory Capital, Invesco, Wellington, T. Rowe Price combined) implies a per-share price between $226.10 and $226.98 as of 30 Jun 2026, internally consistent with no values-in-thousands mismatches on any included row (T. Rowe Price's thousands-denominated values were converted before this check, per the brief).
- Self-gate (computed from this final file on disk, chart arithmetic: every row counts at full value because the one is_aggregate row, Directors and Executive Officers as a Group, has no separate member rows rolled into it and nothing else rolls up): 11 register rows, 31,466,666 total shares, 73,719,896 shares outstanding, 42.68% of the company. Within the expected 25-45% band.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- The identity of the start-up company (communication technology for firefighters, aligned with IDEX's FSDP segment) whose $7.2 million in promissory notes IDEX converted to a zero-value cost-method equity investment in Q4 2023. Never named in the FY2025 10-K, the Q2 FY2026 10-Q, or Exhibit 21; searched all three and the open web with no identification as of 20 Aug 2026.
- The identity of the third-party joint venture partner (45% owner) in IDEX's consolidated Saudi Arabia elastomer-seals joint venture (Dammam, Saudi Arabia, part of the Sealing Solutions reporting unit within HST). Not named in the 10-K; this JV is excluded from holdings regardless (see notes) since IDEX is the controlling, consolidating 55% owner, not a minority holder.
- Whether Franklin Resources, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Charles Schwab Investment Management, or other managers appearing further down the project's 31 Mar 2026 IEX.json snapshot (below Wellington/T. Rowe Price in size) hold current Q2 2026 positions large enough to displace T. Rowe Price or the officers group from a top-8-to-12 register; not individually checked since the top 8-12 threshold was already satisfied by the eleven rows sourced here.
