Address, industry classification, listing and incorporation come from FedEx Freight's own SEC filer record, so the industry is the SEC's dry classification rather than a marketing label. The headcount is the figure the sources below state for 2026. The description was written for this site in November 2026 from FedEx Freight Holding Company, Inc. Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended 31 May 2026 (SEC), FedEx Corporation Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended 31 May 2026 (SEC) and FedEx Freight Holding Company, Inc. filer record (SEC EDGAR), not taken from any single article.

Description

FedEx Freight is the less-than-truckload carrier FedEx spun off on 1 June 2026 as FedEx Freight Holding Company, Inc., a Delaware corporation headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee and quoted on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker FDXF. FedEx distributed 80.1 percent of the shares to its own stockholders, one FedEx Freight share for every two FedEx shares, and kept the remaining 19.9 percent. By its own account it is the largest less-than-truckload freight carrier in North America, moving palletised shipments that share trailer space across a single integrated network of about 355 shipping terminals, over 320 of them in the United States, about 10 linehaul relay sites and more than 26,000 service centre doors, with nearly 30,000 motorised vehicles of which nearly 17,000 are tractors, serving all 50 US states, Canada and Mexico and most of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. It sells two services on that one network: FedEx Freight Priority, a time-definite product with next-business-day transit up to 600 miles and second-business-day up to 1,600 miles backed by a money-back guarantee, and FedEx Freight Economy for cost-sensitive freight with more flexible transit. It employed approximately 40,000 people at 1 June 2026 and its fiscal year ends 31 May.

The full register, from 13F filings

The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 30-jun-2026, where 1,123 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.

1,123 managers reported a position, together holding 91.0m shares, or 60.9% of the company. The 40 largest are listed. Percentages are of the 149.5m shares outstanding at 3 Aug 2026, the count in force when this quarter was measured rather than the count today.

Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
