Address, industry classification, listing and incorporation come from Expeditors International of Washington, Inc.'s own SEC filer record, so the industry is the SEC's dry classification rather than a marketing label. The website comes from Wikidata. The headcount is the figure the Wikipedia article states for 2021, not a figure this site has verified against a filing. No position on this side carries a sourced value, so there is nothing to chart. The table still lists 5 of them.
Select a row or a slice for its provenance: the filing it came from, when it was measured, and the arithmetic behind it if it was modelled.
The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 895 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
895 managers reported a position, together holding 126.8m shares, or 96.9% of the company. The 40 largest are listed. Percentages are of the 130.8m shares outstanding at 1 May 2026, the count in force when this quarter was measured rather than the count today.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- HOLDINGS SIDE: Expeditors is an asset-light freight forwarder with no equity-method investees. The FY2025 10-K (filed 25 Feb 2026, covering fiscal year ended 31 Dec 2025) and the most recent 10-Q (filed 5 Aug 2026, covering the quarter ended 30 Jun 2026, which is fresher than the 10-K) were both searched for 'equity method', 'investments in', 'joint venture', 'unconsolidated', 'non-marketable', 'minority interest', 'variable interest entity' and 'equity securities': none of these terms produced any disclosure of an equity-method investee, a joint venture accounted for as an investment, a non-marketable equity security or a VIE. The 10-K's risk-factors section uses 'joint venture' only generically, describing joint ventures or exclusive agency relationships as a hypothetical way to operate in regulated markets, naming no actual entity.
- Per the brief, agency and exclusive-agency relationships (mentioned three times in the 10-K's risk factors) are commercial arrangements, not equity interests in another entity, and are excluded from holdings for the same reason Williams-Sonoma's franchise agreements were excluded.
- What the holdings side DOES contain: both the FY2025 10-K and the 10-Q show a small consolidated Noncontrolling Interest line (equity of $2,460 thousand at 31 Dec 2025 versus total equity of $2,358,093 thousand), which only arises when a third party holds a genuine minority stake in an Expeditors-controlled subsidiary. The 10-K body gives no entity-level detail, only the generic statement that Expeditors 'conducts business activities in each country through a wholly or majority-owned subsidiary corporation.' Exhibit 21.1 to the FY2025 10-K (the subsidiaries list) resolved this: its footnote (1) states 100% ownership is the default for every listed subsidiary EXCEPT as separately footnoted, and five subsidiaries carry explicit minority-partner footnotes: Expeditors (Thailand) Ltd. at 99.5%, Expeditors International Company W.L.L. (Kuwait) at 49%, Expeditors International Pakistan (Private) Limited at 80%, Expeditors Qatar LLC at 80%, and Expeditors International Tasimacilik ve Ticaret As (Turkiye) at 75%. These five are recorded as holdings, following the Vulcan/Orca, Nucor, Steel Dynamics/Aluminum Dynamics and FirstEnergy/FET precedent for a partly owned operating subsidiary. No share counts, dollar values or minority co-owner identities are disclosed for any of the five; only the percentage survives from Exhibit 21.1's own footnotes.
- The Kuwait subsidiary is footnoted as a '49% controlling interest', i.e. Expeditors' own filing calls a sub-50% stake 'controlling'; this is quoted verbatim rather than corrected, since the underlying voting/nominee-share arrangement that makes this true is not explained in the filing.
- REGISTER SELF-GATE (computed from this file, on disk, exactly as the chart computes it): 10 rows, no rolls_up_into/is_aggregate relationships in this file (the officers-group row has no listed member rows beneath it, so it counts at full value with nothing to reduce). Total shares = 47,367,971. shares_outstanding = 129,990,622 (10-Q cover page, 'At July 31, 2026, the number of shares outstanding of the issuer's common stock was 129,990,622'). 47,367,971 / 129,990,622 = 36.44%, inside the expected 25-45% band.
- Vanguard is reported as ONE family roll-up row summing eight registrant entities' own fresh Q2 2026 (period 30 Jun 2026) 13F-HR information tables: Vanguard Fiduciary Trust Co (CIK 0000933478, 734,378 sh), Vanguard Investments Australia Ltd (0001550100, 67,849 sh), Vanguard Asset Management Ltd (0001680208, 258,015 sh), Vanguard Personalized Indexing Management LLC (0001767306, 31,819 sh), Vanguard Global Advisers LLC (0001811242, 282,327 sh), Vanguard National Trust Co (0001984256, 16 sh), Vanguard Capital Management LLC (0002100119, 8,548,852 sh), Vanguard Portfolio Management LLC (0002100121, 6,624,219 sh). The parent, The Vanguard Group, Inc. (CIK 0000102909), filed Form 13F-NT (a notice carrying no holdings) for the Q2 2026 period, confirmed directly against its own EDGAR submissions history, so per the PNC precedent the eight successor entities ARE the family position and were summed rather than one being substituted for the rest. Entity list drawn from this project's own data/registers/EXPD.json snapshot (period 31 Mar 2026) as a WHO-holds guide only; every share figure above was pulled fresh from each entity's own Q2 2026 13F-HR, not from that snapshot.
- Capital Group was checked and holds nothing material: Capital World Investors (CIK 0001422849), Capital International Investors (0001562230) and Capital Research Global Investors (0001422848) were each queried against their own Q2 2026 13F-HR information tables for CUSIP 302130109 and none returned a matching row. No register row is carried for Capital Group as a result (a checked-and-zero holder is a note, not a null row, per the brief).
- T. Rowe Price Investment Management, Inc. (CIK 0001897612) was also checked and holds nothing; only T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. (CIK 0000080255) holds EXPD, at 193,371 shares.
- T. Rowe Price Associates files its 13F information-table VALUE column in THOUSANDS of dollars, not whole dollars. The raw XML row reads 193,371 shares / $31,516 value; taking that literally implies $0.163/share, which is impossible. Multiplying by 1,000 gives $31,516,000, an implied price of $162.98/share, which matches the implied price on every other Q2 2026 13F row in this file (e.g. BlackRock: $2,193,092,964 / 13,456,209 sh = $163.00/share; State Street: $1,195,497,578 / 7,335,241 sh = $163.00/share). value_usd for the T. Rowe row above is recorded as 31,516,000, i.e. already corrected for the thousands units.
- The proxy's own 'Five Percent Owners' table (DEF 14A filed 24 Mar 2026, record date 10 Mar 2026) lists only Vanguard (16,593,554 sh / 12.39%, as of a stale 31 Dec 2025 13F-HR dated 29 Jan 2026), BlackRock (11,872,659 sh / 8.87%, stale 31 Dec 2025 13F dated unspecified) and State Street (7,714,360 sh / 5.76%, 13F dated 13 Feb 2026). All three are superseded in this file by the fresher Q2 2026 (30 Jun 2026) 13F-HR figures fetched directly, per the brief's instruction to prefer the fresh 13F over any stale figure quoted in a proxy. Note the correction runs in both directions here: Vanguard's fresh count (16,547,475) is slightly BELOW the stale proxy figure, while BlackRock's fresh count (13,456,209) is ABOVE its stale proxy figure.
- The proxy's director/officer beneficial-ownership table (as of 10 Mar 2026) shows no individually notable insider: the nine listed directors and seven additional named executive officers each hold well under 1% individually (largest individual holding is 366,932 shares, Glenn M. Alger, held via family trusts), and 'All Directors and Executive Officers as a Group (16 persons)' totals only 660,144 shares (0.51% of the 129,990,622 shares outstanding). This aggregate group row is carried in the register as the one insider line; no individual director/officer rows are broken out beneath it because none is separately notable and the group total is not built by summing listed members in this file (rolls_up_into/is_aggregate are not used here).
- Expeditors' founder, Peter J. Rose, is deceased (2023); there is no dual-class share structure and no single dominant insider or founder-family holder of the kind seen at Walmart or comparable founder-controlled companies.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- The identity of the minority co-owner(s) in each of the five partly owned Exhibit 21.1 subsidiaries (Kuwait, Turkiye, Pakistan, Qatar, Thailand) is not disclosed anywhere in the FY2025 10-K, the Q2 2026 10-Q or Exhibit 21.1 itself.
- No share count or dollar carrying value is disclosed for any of the five partly owned subsidiaries; the consolidated Noncontrolling Interest balance ($2,460 thousand at 31 Dec 2025) is a combined figure covering all of them together and cannot be split among the five without further disclosure that does not exist in these filings.
- value_usd for the register rows for Vanguard (family roll-up across 8 entities) and 'All Directors and Executive Officers as a Group' was not computed/summed here and is left null; the underlying per-entity dollar values are available in the cited 13F XML files for Vanguard's constituents but were not aggregated because a mixed-entity dollar sum was judged less checkable than leaving it null.
- Labcorp-style bare Exhibit 21 lists with zero percentage columns were not the case here; Expeditors' Exhibit 21.1 DID carry a percentage-bearing footnote system, so unlike some registrants in this database, this is not a case where Exhibit 21 was checked and came back empty.
