Address, industry classification, listing and incorporation come from Eversource Energy's own SEC filer record, so the industry is the SEC's dry classification rather than a marketing label. The website comes from Wikidata. The headcount is the figure the Wikipedia article states for 2024, not a figure this site has verified against a filing. Description
Eversource Energy is a publicly traded, Fortune 500 energy company headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts with additional corporate offices in Hartford, Connecticut, and Boston, Massachusetts, with several regulated subsidiaries offering retail electricity, natural gas service and water service to approximately 4 million customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Following its 2012 merger with Boston-based NSTAR, Northeast Utilities had more than 4,270 circuit miles of electric transmission lines, 72,000 pole miles of distribution lines, and 6,459 miles of natural gas pipeline in New England.

The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 1,046 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
1,046 managers reported a position, together holding 313.1m shares, or 83.2% of the company. The 40 largest are listed. Percentages are of the 376.1m shares outstanding at 30 Apr 2026, the count in force when this quarter was measured rather than the count today.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Confirmed this file is built from Eversource Energy's OWN 10-Q and 10-K under CIK 0000072741 (registrant 'EVERSOURCE ENERGY', tickers ['ES'], exchanges ['NYSE'] per data.sec.gov/submissions), not a subsidiary filing. Both the Q2 2026 10-Q (es-20260630.htm) and the FY2025 10-K (es-20251231.htm) are COMBINED filings covering Eversource Energy, The Connecticut Light and Power Company (CL&P), NSTAR Electric Company and Public Service Company of New Hampshire (PSNH) together; every company-level figure used here (shares outstanding, shares register denominator, equity-method investment balances, guarantee obligations) was taken specifically from the Eversource Energy (parent-consolidated) columns/statements, not a subsidiary's.
- Subsidiaries examined and confirmed wholly owned / consolidated, therefore excluded as holdings per the brief: The Connecticut Light and Power Company (CL&P), NSTAR Electric Company, Public Service Company of New Hampshire (PSNH), PSNH Funding LLC 3, NSTAR Gas Company, Eversource Gas Company of Massachusetts (EGMA), Yankee Gas Services Company, The Rocky River Realty Company (real-estate subsidiary), and the two inactive regional nuclear companies Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company (CYAPC) and Yankee Atomic Electric Company (YAEC), which Eversource CONSOLIDATES (not equity-method) because CL&P/NSTAR Electric/PSNH's combined ownership gives it a controlling interest.
- Nuclear decommissioning / spent-fuel trusts explicitly excluded, per the brief: CYAPC and YAEC each maintain legally restricted trusts holding equity and available-for-sale debt securities to fund spent nuclear fuel removal obligations (the plants themselves completed physical decommissioning years ago; the trusts now fund only long-term spent-fuel storage). These are securities portfolios funding a retirement obligation, not equity stakes in operating companies, and CYAPC/YAEC are themselves consolidated subsidiaries rather than investees, so they are excluded on two independent grounds.
- Offshore wind: Eversource has FULLY EXITED all three of its former offshore wind joint ventures and holds no operating/equity ownership stake in any offshore wind generation project today. (1) Sunrise Wind: sold its 50 percent ownership share to Orsted, closed 9 Jul 2024, for adjusted proceeds of $152 million ($118 million paid at closing, $34 million deferred pending construction milestones); Eversource has no ongoing financial obligations tied to Sunrise Wind. (2) South Fork Wind and Revolution Wind: sold its 50 percent operating ownership share in both to affiliates of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), closed 30 Sep 2024, for adjusted gross proceeds of $745 million received at closing, subject to post-closing purchase-price-adjustment/cost-sharing payments. Both closings are confirmed in the Q2 2026 10-Q's guarantees and indemnifications note. The ONE offshore-wind-adjacent item Eversource still owns is a noncontrolling 100 percent Class A TAX EQUITY interest in South Fork Wind Holdings, LLC (distinct from the Class B operating interest sold to GIP), carried at $19.1 million as of 31 Dec 2025, recorded as a holding above. Eversource also still carries an 'Offshore Wind Contingent Liability' on its balance sheet ($409.2 million current portion at 30 Jun 2026) and various guarantees to Revolution Wind/TurbineCo and South Fork counterparties; these are post-sale LIABILITIES/obligations, not assets or equity holdings, and are not recorded as holdings.
- A second genuine current equity-method holding was found and is not offshore-wind related: a 15 percent interest in Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC, an interstate natural gas pipeline majority-owned by Enbridge, Inc., carried at $110.8 million as of 31 Dec 2025, down from $112.6 million at 31 Dec 2024. Recorded as a holding above.
- An 'Other various' unconsolidated-affiliates bucket of $36.3 million (2025) / $33.9 million (2024) appears in the same FY2025 10-K table alongside Algonquin and the South Fork tax equity investment. It is not broken out by named investee anywhere in the filing text searched, so per the brief's rule on combined balances, no holding was created from it; it is reported here for transparency only (also listed in unknowns).
- Register self-gate, computed on the FINAL file using the exact aggregate-reduction formula specified in the chunk prompt (member rows at full value, the one container they roll into reduced by that member's shares, everything else at full value): 9 rows, 148,454,212 shares against 376,674,754 shares outstanding = 39.41% of the company. This falls within the expected 25 to 55 percent band.
- 8 Vanguard-affiliated entities were summed into the single Vanguard register row (see that row's method_note for the full list and CIKs); the Vanguard parent (CIK 0000102909) filed a 13F-NT (no holdings) for Q2 2026, so per the standard rule the successor entities carry the position and are summed rather than substituted for a single parent figure.
- Capital Group: checked its three most commonly reporting registrants (Capital World Investors CIK 0001422849, Capital International Investors CIK 0001562230, Capital Research Global Investors CIK 0001422848) on Eversource's CUSIP (30040W108) in their Q2 2026 13F-HR filings; none hold a position, so no Capital Group register row was created. Per this project's own prior findings, Capital Group can report through additional registrants beyond these three (TransDigm's research found six); those additional entities were not checked here, so this is flagged in unknowns rather than asserted as a complete absence.
- Eversource's 2026 DEF 14A (filed 2026-03-27) 'Securities Ownership of Certain Beneficial Owners' table cites Vanguard (12.65%), BlackRock (11.38%) and State Street (7.46%) from STALE 13F-HR/13G filings as of 31 Dec 2025. Per this project's rule to prefer the fresh Q2 2026 13F, this file instead uses freshly refreshed Q2 2026 13F figures read directly from EDGAR for all three (Vanguard 12.99% via the successor-entity sum since the Vanguard parent switched to 13F-NT between the two quarters, BlackRock 11.34%, State Street 7.56%); the proxy's stale figures are recorded here only as a cross-check, not used.
- Institutional share counts and values are as filed in each manager's Q2 2026 (period 2026-06-30) Form 13F-HR information table, read directly from EDGAR via scripts/filing.py; none of the institutional register rows were taken from an aggregator. Company-level market cap and current share price (18 Aug 2026) are sourced from stockanalysis.com, an aggregator; that basis is not filed. Shares outstanding (376,674,754 as of 31 Jul 2026) is instead sourced directly from the Q2 2026 10-Q cover page, per the brief's instruction, and rises steadily period over period, consistent with Eversource funding its capital programme with equity issuance (376,598,337 at 30 Jun 2026 per the balance sheet vs. 375,416,880 at 31 Dec 2025).
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- The 'Other various' $36.3 million (2025) / $33.9 million (2024) equity-method investments bucket in the FY2025 10-K is not broken out by counterparty name anywhere in the filing text searched, so its investee(s) and current balance are unknown.
- Whether the Algonquin Gas Transmission 15% interest balance has changed since 31 Dec 2025: the Q2 2026 10-Q does not repeat the 'Investments in Unconsolidated Affiliates' table (equity-method balances there are folded into an undifferentiated 'Other Long-Term Assets' line), so no more recent balance was found.
- Whether Capital Group holds Eversource through registrants beyond the three checked (Capital World Investors, Capital International Investors, Capital Research Global Investors); not verified.
- No sourced figure for individual trustee/officer ownership beyond Joseph R. Nolan, Jr.; the remaining 16 people in the 'All Trustees and Executive Officers as a group' total (486,342 shares net of Nolan) are not individually named with share counts in the proxy's summary table.
- Could not find a distinct Eversource corporate venture-capital arm or named strategic minority-stake vehicle beyond the two equity-method holdings identified (searched the 10-K/10-Q for 'venture', 'strategic investment', 'minority interest' with no further hits of substance).
