Address, industry classification, listing and incorporation come from The Clorox Company's own SEC filer record, so the industry is the SEC's dry classification rather than a marketing label. The website comes from Wikidata. The headcount is the figure the Wikipedia article states for 2025, not a figure this site has verified against a filing. Description
The Clorox Company (formerly Clorox Chemical Company) is an American multinational manufacturer and marketer of consumer and professional products. Clorox ranked annually on the Fortune 500 list from 2000 to 2024, where it last held the #485 spot. Clorox products are sold primarily through mass merchandisers, retail outlets, e-commerce channels, distributors, and medical supply providers.

The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 1,064 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
1,064 managers reported a position, together holding 99.6m shares, or 82.3% of the company. The 40 largest are listed. Percentages are of the 120.9m shares outstanding at 16 Apr 2026, the count in force when this quarter was measured rather than the count today.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Fiscal periods used. Clorox's fiscal year ends in late June. The primary source for company financials and the joint-venture/equity-investment note is the FY2026 Form 10-K, fiscal year ended 30 Jun 2026, filed 7 Aug 2026 (accession 0000021076-26-000034). This is the most recent 10-K or 10-Q on file as of the 18 Aug 2026 research date and is fresher than the last 10-Q (period 31 Mar 2026, filed 30 Apr 2026); no fiscal Q1 2027 10-Q had yet been filed. The most recent proxy is the 2025 DEF 14A (filed 7 Oct 2025, ownership as of 31 Aug 2025); the 2026 annual-meeting proxy had not yet been filed as of the research date. Institutional register rows use Q2 2026 Form 13F-HR filings, position date 30 Jun 2026, filed in Aug 2026, which is more current than either the 10-K's 30 Jun 2026 balance-sheet date (13F filers report later) or the proxy's stale 13G-based 5-percent-owner table.
- Holdings side. The Company's equity-method investments cannot be individually named or sized from this filing. FY2026 10-K, Note 23 (Related Party Transactions), states in full: 'The Company holds various equity investments with ownership percentages of up to 50% in a number of consumer products businesses, which operate both within and outside the United States. The equity investments, presented in Other assets and accounted for under the equity method, were $48 and $47 [million] as of the fiscal years ended June 30, 2026 and 2025, respectively.' No individual venture, country or partner is named anywhere in the 10-K (main body, clx-20260630.htm, or financial-statement exhibit, clx-20260630_d2.htm). Terms searched with zero relevant hits: 'equity method' (only the Note 23 sentence itself), 'unconsolidated', 'Saudi' (found only as a country line in an income-taxes-paid table, not tied to any named venture), 'Aplicare', 'Venezuela', 'joint venture partner'. Because not even an entity name is disclosed, no holdings row was created; per the brief's combined-balance rule the aggregate figure is recorded here and in unknowns rather than assigned to any individual investee.
- Two historical joint-venture leads were checked and resolved as current non-holdings. (1) The Company's venture agreement with The Procter & Gamble Company for the Glad bags-and-wraps business (P&G held 20%, Clorox 80%) expired 31 Jan 2026; the Company was required to purchase P&G's 20% interest at fair value and completed that purchase for $476 million cash on 2 Mar 2026, and now owns 100% of the Glad business, which it operates independently. This was the reverse direction (P&G held a stake in Clorox's business, not Clorox in another company) and is now a wholly-owned business, excluded from holdings under the brief. (2) GOJO Industries was acquired by Clorox for approximately $2.15 billion, completed 1 Apr 2026, primarily debt-financed; also a wholly-owned acquisition, excluded from holdings. Neither is a cross-holding as of this 10-K.
- No pct_of_target field appears in this file because the holdings array is empty, so the chunk-12 fraction-versus-percentage defect (writing 0.5 instead of 50) does not arise here; confirmed by inspection that there is nothing to check.
- Vanguard family: eight successor entities checked individually for Q2 2026 (CIKs 0002100119, 0002100121, 0000933478, 0001811242, 0001680208, 0001550100, 0001767306, 0000947529), summing to 14,767,414 shares, $1,409,401,992. Parent CIK 0000102909 filed Form 13F-NT for the quarter (no holdings), confirming the summed-successors treatment is correct rather than a single substituted row.
- T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. (CIK 0000080255) files its Q2 2026 info table value in thousands: raw XML shows $17,086 against 179,009 shares, rescaled here to $17,086,000 (implying about $95.45/share). T. Rowe Price Investment Management, Inc. (CIK 0001897612) holds zero Clorox shares for the same quarter.
- Capital Group family checked in full for Q2 2026 and found to hold zero Clorox shares: Capital World Investors (CIK 0001422849), Capital International Investors (CIK 0001562230), Capital Research Global Investors (CIK 0001422848); CUSIP 189054109 is absent from all three Q2 2026 info tables. No Capital Group register row is included as a result.
- The 2025 proxy's 5-percent-owner table uses stale Schedule 13G/A data, all superseded here by the fresher Q2 2026 13F-HR figures per the brief's rule: Vanguard 15,228,898 shares (12.52%) as of 29 Dec 2023 (13G/A filed 13 Feb 2024); BlackRock 9,954,343 shares (8.18%) as of 30 Jun 2025 (13G/A filed 17 Jul 2025); State Street 8,410,519 shares (6.91%) as of 31 Dec 2023 (13G/A filed 25 Jan 2024). The proxy's 5-percent table lists no holder besides these three, so no sovereign or other strategic holder above 5% was found there.
- Officers and directors: Linda Rendle (Chair and CEO) is broken out individually and rolls up into the 19-person officers-and-directors group. The other 16 named individuals in the proxy table (Barton, Bellet, Boswell, Bratspies, Breber, Denman, Fleischer, Hyder, Jacobsen, Lee, Mackay, Plaines, Reynolds, Shattock, Weiner, Williams) were not each broken out as separate register rows; their holdings, where nonzero, are captured inside the 765,963-share group total and are not double-counted since only Rendle is marked with rolls_up_into.
- Self-gate, computed the way the chart computes it: 8 register rows. Members: Linda Rendle (266,289 shares) rolls into the officers group. Total = Vanguard 14,767,414 + BlackRock 10,044,423 + State Street 8,432,523 + Invesco 6,010,072 + Geode 3,265,551 + T. Rowe Price 179,009 + Linda Rendle 266,289 (full value, a member) + officers group residual (765,963 minus 266,289 = 499,674) = 43,464,955 shares, against 120,931,005 shares outstanding, or 35.95 percent, within the expected 25 to 45 percent range.
- Market cap cross-check: 120,931,005 shares outstanding (10-K cover, as of 22 Jul 2026) times $105.55 (18 Aug 2026 close, stockanalysis.com) is about $12.76 billion, matching stockanalysis.com's reported market capitalization of $12.76 billion as of the same date.
- Clorox has a single class of common stock and no dual-class or founder-control structure.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- Names and individual carrying values of Clorox's equity-method joint ventures. The FY2026 10-K discloses only a combined $48 million balance (Other assets, 30 Jun 2026; $47 million at 30 Jun 2025) covering 'a number of consumer products businesses' at ownership percentages 'up to 50%', with no venture name, country or partner disclosed anywhere in the filing searched.
- Whether any sovereign wealth fund or other strategic holder (for example Norges Bank) holds a position in Clorox. Not individually checked in this session; the 2025 proxy's 5-percent-owner table lists only Vanguard, BlackRock and State Street, but that table itself is built from stale 13G filings and a 13D/G full-text search was not separately run.
- Vanguard-affiliated 13F filers beyond the eight entities checked here and in the project's own register file (data/registers/CLX.json) were not searched for; if a further Vanguard entity holds CLX shares, the family total would be marginally higher than 14,767,414.
- The legal structure of Clorox's Saudi Arabia operations (implied only by a $10 million income-tax-paid-in-Saudi-Arabia line item in the FY2026 10-K) is not described in the filing: whether it is a consolidated majority-owned joint venture, a wholly-owned subsidiary, or a minority equity-method investee is not disclosed.
- Clorox's fiscal Q1 2027 10-Q had not been filed as of 18 Aug 2026 per its EDGAR submissions feed, so no post-30-Jun-2026 update to any of these figures is reflected.
